This review is from: Perilous Passions (Paperback)
Karen Bryant and Caro Spencer were highly motivated Cleveland, Ohio Police Officers, both were focused on and dedicated to their careers, only. Law Enforcement was their life, UNTIL!
Karen's career came to a climatic end when she captured a high-profiled criminal, and was severely wounded. After much therapy, she created a new life for herself, outside of the department. Instead of stake-outs and shoot-outs, she heads a program, for Cleveland's youth, to help waylay criminal activity before it starts. But, with all of its promise, this career move comes with an obstacle; a tall dark sexy officer.
Caro is a cop with a chip on his shoulder, an automobile accident, while on duty, changed his career path. He's working himself back into position, but in the interim he's been tasked to be the department's liaison for Karen's program, and he's not happy about the reassignment. From day one they are at each others throats, but they soon realize their anger is just a cover up for a sizzling desire for one another. Neither wants a relationship, and although they try to ignore their feelings, Karen and Caro fall freestyle into each other's arms. Their passion is so perilous they will be fighting for their love and their lives.
PERILOUS PASSIONS is a Romantic Suspense with the hint of eroticism. Lodged between their personal issues are eminent dangers, to Karen from the criminal she helped send to prison, and to Caro who is secretly trying to finish the case he aborted after his accident. Their budding romance, may afford them the opportunity to settle both scores and cement their futures; in and out of uniform. There were a few issues that did not come full circle, but this is still an engaging read. The social issues will tug at reader's hearts and the excitement will keep them on the edge. PERILOUS PASSIONS gives readers a tender awakening between two injured hearts.

Cops, Crimes, and Couples, August 11, 2010
This review is from: Perilous Passions (Paperback)
In attempts to clear my TBR stacks, I reached back a couple of years and read this. This read has both romance and suspense with a touch of eroticism. Karen Bryant and Caro Spencer are both police officers that are living through on the job injuries. Karen decided to leave police work behind and focus on making a change in the community by opening a youth counseling center. While Caro attempts to transition to a desk job but secretly continues to follow a burglary suspect. The events that unfold with tug at your heart strings as Karen and Caro struggle to cure their personal issues while making the city of Cleveland a better place to live. There were several sub-plots that didn't get resolved and portions of the story stepped off topic a bit. Perilous Passions is an engaging read and the literary community still mourns the loss of this author.
