A 12X CD Rom player or higher is absolutely necessary with the disc oddly invisible to systems with slower players, but otherwise this reference work is smooth and quick to bring you to any musculoskeletal region in the extremities and shows many different aspects quickly and easily with a mouse click or two. It also backs up nicely for re-reviews of critical material. It displays techniques with video clips and these are well correlated on a slider bar display to images of the underlying tissues. Most work is done in the 7.5 Megahertz output ranges and resolution is excellent. I highly recommend it to all/any students of peripheral musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Pictures are only fair, and too small. Cumbersome system for moving through the slides. I couldn't get the videos to work at all!!The book atlas from this company is actually a bit better amd more comprehensive.

I would only get this for it's portability, but would recommend McNally (atlas in book form) as the best atlas out there at the moment. It is also much more useful as a reference to look at during procedures. Hopefully McNally will make a CD ROM, or the people from Jefferson University will produce something.

old and expensive April 13, 2011
Format:CD-ROM
I bought the cd a few years ago but I have not used it much.I brought it back to life because a friend wanted to borrow it.If it is still the same as it looks (2001 edition),it is too old and expensive. It was designed before windows xp and when you play it now you have to switch to win 95 or 2000 mode.If I look at it in Amazon it looks the same like the one I have.
The images are with machines from before the year 2000 and I would be interested to see an up to date edition. It has a good menu and I appreciate that a lot of work has been put on it but surely it has to be renewed!
