My three year old wanted a "super rocket" from Santa. Santa didn't really know what a "super rocket" was but this rocket was a hit on Christmas morning. He loves the real life sound of a rocket taking off and the real countdown before liftoff. My son walks around counting backwards from ten now. This toy is a great buy for the money and it doesn't even need batteries.

Great Green Toy March 22, 2010

Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
My three year old got this toy for Christmas. We put it on his wish list because we were looking for more eco friendly toys. This one is great. It takes no batteries, but has a simple crank to make it light up and countdown from ten to blast off. You push a button and a man from Mission Control counts down. The lights on the side of the rocket light up and at the time of "blast off" the bottom lights light up. We rarely have to crank the rocket to keep it powered. There is a door on the side of the rocket that opens to see the astronaut's seats. The door came off as soon as my son opened it and it will not stay on. We just discarded the little plastic door and keep the compartment open that has the little seats. It would look a little better if the door stayed on, but the toy is fine without it. This is a great eco friendly toy and I have as much fun playing with it as my son does. Defintely worth having in your toy box.

Good value in a great toy February 10, 2010

I purchased this toy for my 3-year old son and he loves it. So much that he calls out countdowns for everything: getting out of the tub, his other toys, misc. household objects. What makes it even better is it doesn't need batteries. Just wind it up and the fun begins. The rocket glow lights are especially exciting in the dark, and I even heard the sound recording used in a commercial spot during this year's Super Bowl.

My only negative comment would be the flight deck compartment is too small for including an action figure, but we improvise and launch everything from marbles to Lego figures into orbit.

Awesome toy, for about a day.
Got this rocket yesterday, my 6 year old loved it. He even slept with it. This morning he dropped it, the lights sort of blink, and the recording is broke. Read more

Do not buy, lasted only 5 days.
I was hoping the toy wouldn't die like some reviewers have written. But it did. Not very eco-friendly since it's going to the landfill instead of being played with.
