Great customer service, feeder is nice, May 13, 2011
This review is from: Perky-Pet 254 Sundance 28-Ounce Plastic Oriole Top Fill Feeder (Lawn & Patio)
I had previously given this feeder a very poor review although Amazon didn't post it. I also reviewed it poorly at another site and got a direct response from Perky Pet. First they explained the little trick about putting vegetable oil on the O ring. That detail can be found on a couple website's, they should actually put it on the feeder instructions. After oiling the ring the feeder ceased to dump all the nectar every time I put the lid on. I did notice some leaking out the perch holes on a windy day, I don't think that can be helped.
More gratifying is the fact that Perky Pet is sending me a brand new feeder after I shared with them the fact that a raccoon tore it down the first night I left it out and lost some of the parts. I look forward to my new one but will bring it in at night and when it's really windy.

A leaky mess, April 11, 2011
This review is from: Perky-Pet 254 Sundance 28-Ounce Plastic Oriole Top Fill Feeder (Lawn & Patio)
Easily the most poorly designed nectar feeder I've ever bought. Almost all nectar you pour in will immediately leak out through the feeding holes as well as the holes where the perches attach. This was not a single abnormality as I bought two from two separate sellers and both were completely worthless. Had similar, but not quite as bad, results with other Perky Pet products.

A Leaker For Sure, May 4, 2011
This review is from: Perky-Pet 254 Sundance 28-Ounce Plastic Oriole Top Fill Feeder (Lawn & Patio)
I agree with the other reviews, the minute you screw on the cap, ALL of the nectar ran out all over the counter. It was a real mess! It just does not hold ANY liquid. I wonder how they ever marketed this item?

Another poorly made Perky Pet Feeder, June 21, 2010
This review is from: Perky-Pet 254 Sundance 28-Ounce Plastic Oriole Top Fill Feeder (Lawn & Patio)
The minute you screw on the top of the feeder, all of the liquid flows out of the bottom of the feeder. It will not hold any kind of liquid at all.
I have tried several different Oriole feeders either made or sold by Perky Pet. They are all poorly designed and manufactured.

Worthless, May 20, 2011
This review is from: Perky-Pet 254 Sundance 28-Ounce Plastic Oriole Top Fill Feeder (Lawn & Patio)
I watched as the feeder dripped all of the liguid within a few hours of hanging it. Its a slam dunk to the dumpster. I hope the makers of this POS are happy with themselves.

To not have it leak, you have to oil the O Ring, July 12, 2011
This review is from: Perky-Pet 254 Sundance 28-Ounce Plastic Oriole Top Fill Feeder (Lawn & Patio)
I purchased this oriole feeder after I noticed the orioles coming to my hummingbird feeders and then having raccoons break a different feeder. The second time I filled it, I noticed that it leaked from the holes almost immediately - figured it was operator error and dealt with the plunger thing. When it happened again right after I filled it, I pulled it apart - but couldn't make it stop. Finally did go on-line and found the tip from Perky Pet to oil the o-ring at the top of the feeder (not really intuitive that that would make a difference, but it does). The orioles (and other birds) are now enjoying the feeder and my frustration level has gone down. I also put grape jelly in the upside down holder. Saw a mom feeding her chick from it! Way cool!
