I was so excited when this bird feeder arrived. It really adds elegance to my backyard. It's the prettiest feeder I've ever seen and it's quality made at such a reasonable price. My big issue with it is that it's not squirrel proof. I didn't expect the squirrels around my area to be so greedy. They've been able to shimmy up the hanging pole, cling onto the sides of the feeder by wrapping their body around it, and steal all the seeds from the birds. I'm not sure what to do? I wish the design had been squirrel proof. The squirrels have even bit through some of the wood to get at the food. I'm disappointed for now :( and just took it down this morning until I have a better plan. I guess I have to buy an extra component to deter the squirrels. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise.

I bought this for my father for Father's Day. My father thought it was so well made and attractive that he didn't want to use it outside, but as a decorative piece in his home. He decided to buy a new shepard's hook worthy of hanging the feeder. It has become a real piece of "art" in his backyard. My dad rarely makes his feelings known, but he repeated over and over to me, "how beautiful and well made" this feeder is. This rated right up there with his new John Deere riding lawn mower.... You can't go wrong with this as a gift or for your own home.

This feeder is well constructed, has a great design, looks great and holds plenty of bird seed. The perches are larger than I expected. We enjoy watching the birds and the birds love it!

We purchased this bird feeder for my father-in-law for Christmas and it is absolutely beautiful. Note that in the image, it appears to have a leaf pattern at the top left corner. We wondered if that might be shadowing in the picture only and that was the case... the top is solid in color, which was nice because we weren't sure dad would like a leaf design. Several people commented that it was one of the prettiest bird feeders they had ever seen. It's a really good size with sturdy perches for the birds and a great flow system inside for how it drops the seeds within reach of the birds. Easy to fill and holds a large amount of seeds. The top of the feeder is beautiful, much darker than pictured here with a gorgeous copper colored latch and copper colored handle at top to match the perches. The wood is more rich and natural looking in person than pictured here as well. I thought the picture made it look like the wood might be a bit orange but it's not at all. Basically, if you think this bird feeder looks good in the picture, just wait until you see it in person - it is even prettier! I think every aspect of it was better looking in person and we were surprised by how well constructed it was and beautiful, especially given the very reasonable price. You would have thought we'd paid far more for it. We were incredibly pleased with the purchase and dad loved it. Customer service was exceptionally prompt and friendly. Highly recommend this feeder.

After carefully reading the reviews on this birdhouse, I ordered it for our backyard. It's proven to be a bit of a disappointment, as one of the four plastic inserts, or "windows" is always coming out of its track. The wooden frame of the birdhouse seems flimsy, and this certainly may contribute to the aforementioned problem with the plastic panel. The latch on the roof or "lid" doesn't stay closed very well, and is too easily disrupted, causing seed to spill out.

I've gone through MANY, MANY bird feeders and end up throwing them away within a year's time -- many in just a couple of months. I read the reviews on this one and decided to give it a try. It is more attractive in person than in the photo. I have it hanging outside my office on a double hook feeder pole. I've had it for over a year and I must say it is as nice today as it was when I purchased it. I live in Florida where it rains almost every day in the summer and of course has extreme heat too. This is by far the best bird feeder I've ever had. It is very sturdy, it latches very easily yet securely and the Plexiglas windows slip out easily for cleaning. I've gone through wood, plastic, metal -- you name it and almost all have been a disappointment. I like it so much I'm going to order another one to hang on the other hook.

Well made birdhouse, does not look cheap or flimsy like many birdhouses you find at Wal-mart, Target or Home Depot. Easy to hang and fill with seed. Perches are sturdy and has held up well to the weather in the 6 months I have had it.

This already had good reviews so i got it, and i know now from personal opinion that it is indeed greaat! Absolutely beautiful for the price you pay! great craftmanship

I bought one of these birdfeeders at the beginning of the summer and it was fine - lots of compliments on it. I ordered another at the beginning of fall and it was USED and re-packaged. The plastic inserts were dirty, the perches were turning green and, believe it or not, there was still bird seeds on the bottom - which was very dirty also. Unbelievable...I cannot understand why they did this. The packaging was discarded by someone else or I would certainly have returned it.

This is a very pretty feeder. I actually only used it for a week outside before I cleaned it and brought it in to display it. My husband and I both wondered how long it would last outside. It's very pretty- but not durable. Not sure what metal or metal coating is used for the roof. We'll try it outside again in the summer.
