Great low-cost feeder,

I've had this feeder out year-round for 4 years - and it's still going strong. It survives the South Florida summer heat and downpours without rotting (yes! plastic can rot in our sun) or getting the seed totally soaked. Of the several feeders I have about, this is the one that empties first. And although the squirrels can get to the seed, they havent' chewed the feeder to bits. I'm very pleased with it!!

Fun for children,

My son loves to feed and watch the birds with this feeder. The top is easy to remove and there is a wide opening to pour the seed into. It holds just enough so we get to refill it every three days. The only problem is that there is no way to hang it in a tree without some rope to tie to the hanger.

Fun, but expect massive spillage,

I'm not a big fan of bird feeders (nor birds for that matter), and got this on a whim. It is well built, and easy to load. It has been fun having it in the back yard. It certainly attracts crowds of birds. BIG crowds of birds. They actually queue up to get to the feeder. The only problem I see is that under normal load (say 3 to 4 smallish birds), the combination of it tipping and them feeding causes an amazing amount of food to fall to the ground, both through openings in the bottom of the feeder and from it tipping back and forth. If this thing is in active use, I have seen it empty out in two hours. While this can be fun to behold, be aware that you'll be filling it often, and that soon enough there will be more action on the ground under the feeder than on the feeder itself.
