I have to totally disagree with what the other reviewer said about this item. I bought this about four years ago at a seasonal store at our local mall for about $4. It was probably the best $4 purchase I've made in my life. It lasted for all this time with both I and my mother using it constantly until about six months ago when it came up missing. I am so happy I found one on Amazon so that I can get another one. The plastic is definitely not cheap. It is very thick & durable. I could make enough coffee or tea to fill a 12oz mug with this. Just take the amount of coffee you want, place it inside the little area with the makeshift filter, press the cup portion of the brewer on top of it, add boiling water or very hot tap water to the cup portion & wait until it drains into your mug. It doesn't take long at all, so long as you make sure the cup portion is clean & it's little draining holes aren't clogged (very easy to do-- just run it through hot tap water before using it). To make tea, all you have to do is open a tea bag or two (or even three depending on how strong you want it) and put the leaves inside the filter spot. It holds a fair amount of coffee or tea. Although occasionally some of the coffee or tea leaves will float up into the cup area of the brewer, none of that ends up in your mug and, as often as we used it, the only time it ever got clogged was when I added dry creamer into the coffee inside the filter area as an experiment to see how it would work. It didn't lol. You shouldn't expect this to make multiple cups of coffee, but for single uses, it's perfect.
