5.0 out of 5 stars Empowering!! April 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved the Incubation Handbook. Although frequently considering it, I have never tried to incubate eggs. After reading Incubation Handbook I feel both empowered and inspired. I now have a complete understanding of how to avoid the pitfalls and get the best hatch rate possible. The book was so through, while still being fun and easy to read! My takeaway was of the best kind: I can do it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally useful March 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book having incubated eggs maybe 6 times previously. Each time I've had searched the web or information especially about "helping" chicks out if they seem to be stalled. This book gave me a great explanation of how/why/when to do that, plus lots more.

More About the Author

Anna Hess dreamed about moving back to the land ever since her parents dragged her off their family farm at the age of eight. She worked as a field biologist and nonprofit organizer before acquiring fifty-eight acres and a husband, then quit her job to homestead full time. She admits that real farm life involves a lot more hard work than her childhood memories entailed, but the reality is much more fulfilling and she loves pigging out on sun-warmed strawberries and experimenting with no-till gardening, mushroom propagation, and chicken pasturing.
