5.0 out of 5 stars Most concise explanation
Before reading this book or deeming it conspiratorial, every faithful Catholic must heed St. Thomas Aquinas's advise: "Do not heed by whom a thing is said, but rather what is said" (De Modo Studendi). Taking that approach, you will realize that John Vennari is not pushing his own agenda; he quotes both Popes Pius IX and Leo XIII, who asked that the Mason's "Permanant...

It appears as though the entire text of the instructions are abridged. The instructions make up a small part of this small book. Maybe only five pages. The instructions are not different than what is found online. The rest of the book talks about Vatican II and its changes, which isn't bad, but if you are buying this book you are already probably well informed on these...

5.0 out of 5 stars Most concise explanation, November 17, 2010
This review is from: The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita (Paperback)
Before reading this book or deeming it conspiratorial, every faithful Catholic must heed St. Thomas Aquinas's advise: "Do not heed by whom a thing is said, but rather what is said" (De Modo Studendi). Taking that approach, you will realize that John Vennari is not pushing his own agenda; he quotes both Popes Pius IX and Leo XIII, who asked that the Mason's "Permanant Instruction" be published, the important parts of which Vennari quotes in this pamphlet. After having studied this pamphlet, good further reading is Freemasonry Unmasked by Msgr. Dillon, a book that Pope Leo XIII highly praised.

Remember, this is a real issue because Christ speaks through papal encyclicals ("Humani Generis" §20: "He who heareth you, heareth me" [Lk. 10:16]), and there have been many papal encyclicals and constitutions condemning Freemasonry, including:

* Clement XII, Constitution "In Eminenti", 28 April, 1738;
* Benedict XIV, "Providas", 18 May, 1751;
* Pius VII, "Ecclesiam", 13 September, 1821;
* Leo XII, "Quo graviora", 13 March, 1825;
* Pius VIII, Encyclical "Traditi", 21 May, 1829;
* Gregory XVI, "Mirari", 15 August, 1832;
* Pius IX, Encyclical "Qui pluribus", 9 November, 1846;
* Pius IX, Allocution "Quibus quantisque malis", 20 April, 1849;
* Pius IX, Encyclical "Quanta cura", 8 December, 1864;
* Pius IX, Allocution "Multiplices inter", 25 September, 1865;
* Pius IX, Constitution "Apostolicę Sedis", 12 October, 1869;
* Pius IX, Encyclical "Etsi multa", 21 November, 1873;
* Leo XIII, Encyclical "Humanum genus", 20 April, 1884;
* Leo XIII, "Pręclara", 20 June, 1894;
* Leo XIII, "Annum ingressi", 18 March, 1902 (against Italian Freemasonry);
* Leo XIII, Encyclical "Etsí nos", 15 February, 1882;
* Leo XIII, "Ab Apostolici", 15 October, 1890.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding work., September 10, 2001
This review is from: The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita (Paperback)
This small booklet is really well done. It explains so much of what has happened to the Catholic Church over the last forty years. I know the other sources for the Alta Vendita, espeically from publications in France that date back to the 1920s -- 40 years before Vatican II. The Alta Vendita is a true document and because of Vatican II we are living through its fulfillment. Cardinal Suenens himself said "Vatican II is the French Revolution of the Church". God help us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic booklet!, August 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita (Paperback)
This booklet examines The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita--the once secret papers of the Masons which outline a plan to subvert the Catholic Church. The author quotes the actual Masonic document, which both Pope Pius IX (1846-1878) and Pope Leo XIII (1878-1903) asked to be published. This document describes the Masons' diabolical strategy to destroy the Church by infecting her leaders with Liberal ideas. In this way, Catholics would be promulgating Masonic ideals under the mantle of seemingly legitimate Catholicism. Describes how far the Masons have succeeded in their plot. Includes an appendix detailing the aims of Freemasonry, as well as the Papal denunciations of that society. It also contains the famous Oath Against Modernism required by Pope St. Pius X of all clergy and an official prayer for the conversion of Freemasons. Gives the reader an awareness of the dangers posed by the Masons and will expose the truth about the secret aims of this powerful secret organization.

5.0 out of 5 stars Masonic Subversion of the Catholic Church, June 5, 2006
This review is from: The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita (Paperback)
This booklet confirmed what I knew about the Masons and their plan to infiltrate the Church. The Masons greatest achievement in their agenda within the Church came with the election of Pope John XXIII and the Second Vatican Council. Vernnari shows how the Popes fought against this attack through the ages, and even warn that it would come up again. He also quotes from numerous Masons and their documents showing how they planned to destroy the Church from within. And they were willing to take generations to pull it off. Their patience has paid off. Every Catholic that thinks his Church is still Catholic needs to read this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Conspiracy Mongering, February 15, 2000
This review is from: The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita (Paperback)
The author considers the fraternity of "Carbonari" which existed in Western Europe in previous centuries, but of which there is little evidence it still exists. He somehow equates it with the order of Freemasons by very tenuous means, and proceeds to tar the Freemasons with everything real or imagined he can blame the Carbonari for. Anyone who is familiar with the hoax about the "protocols of Zion" will fing this book oddly familiar.

As a Christian, I feel shame for finding this type of pamphlets in a religious store. In it you will find the teachings of man, but not a trace from Christ teachings.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ever More of Just the Same Tired Old Tripe, August 2, 2000
This review is from: The Permanent Instruction of the Alta Vendita (Paperback)
It doesn't seem to matter how many times the truth about Taxil's articles and the Papacy's Oath Against Modernism are debunked. Some people will believe anything in print that confirms their own beliefs.

This book is nothing more than a rehash of the old, old rants and tirades.

(I didn't want to give it even one star, but I did not have that option!)
