I don't understand the first persons review. Lewis isn't even mentioned in the book. I bought this used, because, militarism fascinates me. I would like to see us dismantle our military budgets, and Melman paints a very rational way to do so

This review is from: The Permanent War Economy: American Capitalism in Decline (Paperback)
Another Bernard Lewis source of understanding the different thought processes of the Islamic world versus the Christian world over a thousand years or more, and why we don't see eye to eye. We must understand this history and the decline of Islamic achievements before we can deal with current issues. A short but concise review on the subject, it should be read by all.
