While you may only need a little dab of this stuff at a time, it's much more economical to buy a largish tube like this.
Typically, it is used to keep moisture out of electrical connections, like the connection between spark plug wires and the plugs.
So during a semiannual cleaning of the inside of the computer I applied a very thin layer of silicon grease to the contacts.
