Been using High Tack spray for 30+ years and it has always served me well- including yesterday.

Not sure why anyone would not like it, unless the gasketed surface is gouged, not flat or otherwise damaged or the gasket has greasy fingerprints, oily spots or chunks of old gasket on it. But that's not the products fault.

Pretty simple. Spray High Tack on the clean gasket, wait about 5 minutes, put it in place, reassemble & tighten. I like to stick it on the removable part so the gasket comes off with it. When it's time to replace the gasket, it's a lot easier to scrape a part on the bench.

Like another reviewer here, High Tack has been my go to product for paper type gaskets for over 30 years. Use is simple. Make sure both the gasket itself and the surfaces to be gasketed are clean. A little brake cleaner on a shop towel works well. Spray the surface you want to apply the gasket to and the appropriate side of the gasket. Now wait about 10-15 minutes for some of the solvents to evaporate. This is a critical step. Try to rush this and this will do no better than spray paint. Stick the gasket to the surface, and bingo. You now do not need two extra hands to hold it in place. Personally, I spray both sides of the gasket and both mounting surfaces to help eliminate any chance of leakage. Hang the gasket from a piece of mechanic's wire or the like to let both sides dry without sticking to something. If you think there is a good likely hood of taking the part back off and do not want to trash the gasket, only do one side. As I said earlier, this product shines on paper gaskets. You can also use it on cork type gaskets, but in my experience a product like yellow or black weather strip adhesive works much better. That is another product that is awesome in it's area, if it is used properly. Silicone or rubber gaskets? I never cared for it on those. But your typical thermostat, water pump or timing cover gaskets, you can't beat it. A lot of the auto parts stores have stopped carrying the aerosol as well. The brush on kind is ok, but just goes on way too thick and takes too much time to apply in my opinion. This stuff, spray it on, wipe off excess overspray with a carb or brake cleaner dampened towel, and there you go. I could go on, but it really is great and simple to use. If it does not work for you, you are doing something wrong or trying to use it on an inappropriate gasket. Period.

I have been using this product for over 20 years. If your mating surfaces are clean and not damaged in anyway this adhesive holds your gasket in place so you don't have to fight with anything. I spray some on the gasket and some the mating surface I wish to adhere the gasket to. Wait until tacky and stick the gasket in place.

I've tried this adhesive several times, on valve cover gaskets, thermostat gaskets, etc. It simply doesn't work. The gasket will fall off as soon as it's handled. Useless.
