"When the student is ready...",

"When I first started reading "Permission to Succeed," I thought Noah St. John was speaking directly to me. He wondered why many intelligent, creative, sensitive people would unconsciously stop themselves from gaining more success in their lives. That sounded just like me, so I kept on reading. I commiserated with stories of Noah's struggles, I laughed aloud at the humorous parts and I dove into the exercises that he prescribed. I have to admit that the work was painful, but it drilled down to the core of my mixed up emotions and my faulty thinking. Within weeks, my business and my personal life began to improve. I have read countless books, attended seminars and invested in private counseling, but I can honestly say that "Permission to Succeed" was the first breakthrough I ever experienced that showed me why I do the things I do as well as why I don't do what I know I should do... to bring me the successes I deserve! My only regret was that I was not exposed to this book twenty years ago. Thank you, Noah St. John!"

The book is completely unique in perspective. The author has taken a very fresh look at success and why we deprive ourselves of it. His viewpoints are enlightening, groundbreaking. And using Afformations (not affirmations) - YES!! this is exactly how my mind works, so it's much better to use a tool that works. (THANK YOU!)
Read the entire volume and you will see how he comes full circle to help us understand what has caused us to make certain choices in the past. Defining our own success, becoming responsible for ourselves (rather than the entire world), these are things that help us clarify what we want. I've spent quite a bit of time reading success literature, and Noah is right in that there are plenty of recipes books out there. But, a recipe is not what you are missing. It is in fact the desire to cook. The book does an excellent job of teaching us how to give ourselves permission to enjoy. And enjoyment, now isn't that what success really is after all? Reading a ton of "Succeed This Way" volumes? Do yourself a favor, read this one, think it through, run through the exercises. You may be doing a lot of busy work in those other volumes for no reason at all. The best insight I got from this was that choosing not to succeed can be because you feel responsible for the entire world, since you can't get there you can't succeed. Not to say don't have ambition, more to say ambition is best when your feet are planted firmly in your jet - otherwise you simply won't be able to fly there. With your feet firmly planted, it's okay to go there. Let it be okay, let yourself go. The parable of the dining room - EXCEPTIONAL. The central message here, we all have something to contribute. People are waiting for us to contribute it. You are not doing anyone any good by NOT contributing what you have to offer. With this in mind, we can contribute, be successful, and still be humble. We are part of a much greater design that we were chosen to participate in.

Do yourself a favor and buy this book NOW!,
By Dan Geist (St. Louis, Missouri) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Permission To Succeed (Paperback)
Over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars on self-help books that didn't do anything for me. Everyone kept repeating things I already knew. Noah's book not only helped me discover why I was preventing my success, but showed me how to accept the success I deserved. Finally, someone gave me the power to turn on the lights so I can see all the wonderful things around me. The exercises in the book were more valuable than any seminar I have ever attended. The simple writing allows the profound ideas to leap from the page and into your soul. This is more than just a book, it can change your life!

Permission To Succeed: Unlocking The Mystery of Success Anorexia,
By
This review is from: Permission To Succeed (Paperback)
I would recommend this book to others who continue to sabatoge their success in life and can not get the answers they need to change. In fact, I have recommended it to many of my friends and they, too, have been helped. In reading this book I came to alot of 'aha's' that I had never thought of before in my difficulity to overcome my own paradigms, patterns of behavior, and mindsets that have seemed to hold me back. After reading MANY self-help and personal growth books, I can truly say that I received the most from this book. Not only do I give this book 5 stars, I also give Mr. St. John my thanks and a big hug. This is a well written book that takes you by the hand and leads you to answer the question of 'why you need permission to succeed'. And, believe me, YOU do need to give yourself permission to succeed or you never really will. This book helps you do just that. I AM glad I took the chance (because of the title) and purchased this book. I recommend that you do too and allow it to open doors in your mind and life and set you free to succeed. You'll be amazed at the doors it will open in your mind that have been closed and locked for most of your life. It did with me. Again, thanks to Mr. Noah St. John and his caring way of bringing it all home.

There are quite a few reviews by people who seem to either have not read the book or have not applied the information in it. This is a great book filled with wisdom. It approaches success from a viewpoint I've yet to see elsewhere. His techniques are simple, well thought-out, and effective. Give them a try and see for yourself. Well worth the time and money, in my opinion. Give this book a try and make up your own mind.

I have been searching for years, and like so many others, have spent a fortune on self-help books. I started each book with such enthusiasm, but ended up with the same defeatist results. I stumbled on this book, and from the first page I got the feeling that someone was reading my mind and soul. I haven't even finished it yet, and already I have a clarity that I never could find before. This book is a must read for anyone who is sick of hitting brick walls. Noah St. John, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have taken me back to square one and helped me to know that there is a 'real life'waiting for me to live and truly enjoy! God bless you-

THE BOOK OF ALL BOOKS -- A MUST READ!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Permission To Succeed (Paperback)
A book that is truly "me" on every single page! I grew up with the words "behavior" and "deserve" thrown at me a lot...this book helped me to realize this and then gave me the courage to move beyond WITHOUT placing blame on anything and/or anyone. I read the entire book in just 4 days -- I simply could not put it down. I did all of the writing exercises which helped immeasurably to put so much into perspective! A definite read for anyone wondering what gifts/good they can possibly offer back to life.

This woke me up!,
This review is from: Permission To Succeed (Paperback)
This book showed me that I have subconcious thoughts that allow me to sabatage MYSELF in doing anything... This is the first book that I EVER did the exercises it gives... If you do not plan to do the exercises it probably won't be of much help to you... they are very important.. Then find someone of the same mind set.. seek out someone that loves you unconditionally to talk over some of these issues with... A dynamic book.. Thanks Noah...

CHANGED MY LIFE,
By Brian Garnant (Montgomery Village, MD United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Permission To Succeed (Paperback)
So beautifully simple that I asked myself "Why hasn't someone seen this before?" Thank you Noah, truly remarkable. Do not read this book if you are looking for something *hard* to do. It was an easy read, and incredibly powerful. I read this book two months ago and still am amazed at how great it is. Had been working on something for fifty years, and got the "push" I needed to get through, finally. Not woo-woo, not pie-in-the sky, just great!

Could be one of your missing links, too,
By Cinnamon Girl (Studio City, California USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Permission To Succeed (Paperback)
I've had this book for several years but only recently got around to reading it cover to cover and I'm in awe of the emotional freedom I've gained since reading it. There were many lightbulb and empathic moments, such as with the section about competition. I actually gasped for air and wept when I read that part. I highly recommend this resource. About the negative reviews, I would guess that this book might only be understood by those with the particular sensitivity that the author discusses. If that's the case, I might understand why ;) this presentation might come off as "snake oil," etc. I was fortunate to check it out in a bookstore to find that it resonated with me, but if you're not able to do that, perhaps reading Amazon's excerpt would give you a better idea if this is the "right" book for you. There's also a website. After I read it through again, a friend is borrowing it and another ordered her own copy (I read them some things -- including the part about competition, about which they also had intense reactions). One last opinion: What's discussed here seems to be a very right-brain relatable kind of thing (and, perhaps, why traditional success material/info hasn't worked for a lot of people). Peace.
