I refer to Perpetual Night as a "creepy kid" story not because teenage protagonist Lil is necessarily creepy, but because Morales evokes the feeling both in content and execution that I found as refreshing as it was intriguing. Lil's persistent and unsettling dreams cause her and her overworked mother to question sanity and reality as she searches for reason. If you're a fan of the supernatural, this book is for you. If you're not, it's the perfect length to give the genre another shot. It's a short read, it keeps you interested throughout, and it doesn't disappoint when the last page has turned. I totally recommend.

Perpetual Night is about 15 year old Lilibeth and the changes taking place in her life. Lilibeth is a very special girl, and she is learning about some of her gifts in a very terrifying way. While she has been close to her mother since her father died, she is worried her mother thinks she is crazy. Lilibeth is not alone on her journey, and a good friend Alex is also helping her on her scary journey.

Perpetual Night is rather short, but interesting enough to keep you reading. I am glad the author didn't go down the well-worn road of today with yet another vampire story. The story is unique, the characters are personable, and trying to figure out fact from fiction is part of the fun. If you enjoy stories of the supernatural, Perpetual Night will be right up your alley.

I was impressed by the story itself. The descriptions were vivid and well thought out. I was able to see it all in my mind as I was reading. IMHO this is the one thing that separates an ok/good read from a great read! It was creepy at times and interesting throughout. I started reading it with the intention of reading a couple of pages and going to bed. Well I could not put it down! It is just the right length to read in one go if you are an avid reader. With the exception of a few minor editing flaws , this book is as good as it gets! I highly recommend!

I have to say that this type of book is not my usual read. Having said that, I was taken aback to find that the opinions I formed while reading were not correct and I was blindsided. I love surprise twists! The plot is believable, and while I felt the characters might have been fleshed out a bit more, I knew this was a novella and as such would be more compact than a full-length novel. Had I known the book content I might not have elected to read it, but I always enjoy different genres and would have missed the opportunity to expand my reading horizons. If you enjoy suspense, horror, or books that weave a tangled web, this one is for you!

I plan to keep plugging thru because I really want to see how the story plays out, but I really wish that authors would either have someone proofread or read out loud to themselves to catch the grammer and tortured sentences that make them so hard to read. I spend so much time in trying to figure out what the sentence is supposed to say that I lose the story.

Yet another amazing book from Post Mortem Press. I loved the story but wished it ran a bit longer. The editing is great, the story is dark and gripping. Any horror fan should love this novella.
