2.0 out of 5 stars Boring and very Generic
This band is just plain boring, there is nothing unique about them what so ever. If i had to describe them as anything, i would go as far as to say they are a inferior version of sonata artica.

The first album was actually not to bad, it wasnt mind blowing or such, but it was consistent and it created a solid foundation for these guys. All for them to waste...

All for them to waste that chance.

There definetly has been a backwards progression in excitement and creativity between the first two ablums, although perhaps you could argue that PT is technically more acomoplished and it has a more polished feel to it.

But we were expecting that anyway, so whats with the boring riffs and the overall generic sound...?

Well, im not sure, maybe its their style, i dont know but i was expecting alot better than this.

The album takes about 3-4 songs even to get remotely interesting, starting with scars; (which sounds more like an album opener)a decent track, leading to the best track on the album; Enchantment, by far. This song is what i would be expecting of the whole album (quality and varation wise). It blasts off with a semi-sonic, light spindling riff; which grabs your attention almost immeadiately (this is more like it)and the other riffs manage to hold their own, whilst supporting the impressive breakdowns and change ups throughout the song.
The next song, new revelations, is also a well structured song, bringing a little more dpeth to the album.

Dont get me wrong; the rest of the songs arent bad, but it comes down to variation in the end, and for me this album doesnt have that.

Any true power metal fan will not be excited by this, so if your looking for something new, flashy and exciting; go buy a sonata artica or crimsonfire album, if you want a consistent, yet a very generic sounding album get PT.
