This album means Christmas.

From the beautiful opening rendition of "T'was..." to the rousing closer, this is a collection to remember.

Much has been made of the quality of Como's voice. He was never better than here. But what truly separates this from all other Christmas albums are the arrangements. From the soft chorals of "Silent Night" to the inspired counterpoint of "The 12 Day...," the musicians blend with Como's warmth and create a texture rare in pop.

As an added bonus, even the 'original' tunes are inspired. "That Christmas Feeling" is certainly not out of place among the more traditional favorites.

All of this adds to up delightful holiday listening year after year.

I just noticed that this CD has been released, and I ordered it immediately. When I was very young, I'd ask my mother to put on the "Perry Como record" whenever I wanted to "feel like Christmas," even it was the middle of July. Just listening to the samples here brings back so many memories of childhood Christmases and growing up in the '50s. I can't wait to receive the CD and hear it entirely!

As a young child I can remember listening to Perry Como's Christmas albums in our home and at my grandparent's home on Christmas Eve. My dad would pack the "record player" along with the gifts to make sure we took the sounds of Perry Como with us to share with all of the family. Now as a parent my seven year old really enjoys this CD and will often tell me how he likes this music better than the "modern" holiday music of today. This is a tremendous compilation of songs that makes the holidays so much more enjoyable and always takes me back to those wonderful Christmas's of my youth.

I still have an old copy of this great album in its original vinyl LP form (from 1961). It is now very nice to have it also in the higher-quality CD format. Mr. Como has that certain "Christmas" quality in his holiday recordings that just make you want to listen again and again. Every selection is outstanding. "Perry Como Sings Merry Christmas Music" is a definite "must" each Christmas season!

I grew up listening to Perry Como every Christmas. My parents had the vinyl album. If you like Christmas music, this is a definite plus to have! Perry Como's soothing voice makes these songs so much better.

This album was a favorite of mine from my childhood, all great Christmas songs performed with classic style by the late, great Perry Como. The song C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S is especially good and not commonly found elsewhere.

The CD is a very good remaster with decent sound quality, considering the source recordings date from 1948 to 1953 and were originally monaural. The entire album, but especially the last several tracks which are the earliest recordings, exudes the atmosphere of Christmas in the late Forties and early Fifties - the recovery from WWII, the optimism and simple joy of living before the Cold War heated up too much.

I am thrilled that it is out on CD and heartily recommend it to anyone who enjoys Christmas ballads; you will never regret adding this CD to your collection of Christmas music.

I tried to get this album last year! I am so happy to finally be able to have this album in my household. I grew up with these songs and am anxious to share with my children. My mom wouldn't give me hers--maybe I will be nice and buy her one too! This is a wonderful album and I love the C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S song.

My first experience with Christmas music was when I was between 1 and 3 years old with this Christmas album on record. My mother owned it for a while before and she played it for me as a child. Christmas would not be complete without this album. One of my favorite versions of "Jingle Bells" is on this album. Highly recommended, and a must for a Perry Como fan.

I grew up listening to this album and Perry Como's melodic voice singing these songs is part of my Christmas tradition every year - I listen while baking cookies or writing Christmas cards. There is nothing fancy here, just Perry's clear tenor singing old favorites with nice arrangements.
