5.0 out of 5 stars Madea's Best Yet!!! August 31, 2012
This is quite possibly the best Madea movie to date. Madea has a lot more screentime, making the movie better and funnier. There's hardly any random subplot drama at all. It's a flat-out comedy starring Madea and Eugene Levy. The jokes are hilarious and keep coming. Levy plays George Needleman, a dorky businessman marked for death by a crime family after his company goes bankrupt and he is framed for money laundering. Brian Simmons takes the case and suggests the Needeleman family stay at Madea's house. (That's when all heck breaks loose as she tries to teach them love and respect) Will George and Madea be able to find the money and give it back to the charities? I highly recommend MADEA'S WITNESS PROTECTION!!

5.0 out of 5 stars THEY'RE WHITE FOLKS! August 28, 2012
This is another fun improbable comedy from Tyler Perry. George (Eugene Levy) has been set up to run a fake charity investment scheme which launders money for the mob. He agrees to testify and along with his family is placed in a witness protection program which places them in Madea's home.

The family suffers from low self-esteem. Barbara (Doris Roberts) is George's mother. She suffers from dementia and jungle fever. George is married to Kate (Denise Richards) his second wife who doesn't get along with Cindy (Danielle Campbell) the rebellious back talking daughter from George's first marriage. Howie (Devan Leos) is the proverbial overweight son.

The film is funny throughout with a smattering of predictable laughs. Tom Arnold has a bit part in the beginning and Tyler Perry plays three roles. 4 1/2 STARS

PARENTAL GUIDE: No f-bombs, n-words, sex, or nudity. Some minor sex humor, such as a play on words such as "hard" and Madea mentioning her stripping and prostitution days.

5.0 out of 5 stars "ONE OF THE FUNNIEST MOVIES OF THE YEAR!" June 29, 2012
Tyler Perry has done it again, and Madea's Witness Protection is One of his Best! At first Madea is asked to get involved, she wasn't going to, but an offer for Big Money was made she simply couldn't refuse. This fun-filled family movie is laugh-out-loud from start to finish. Madea is one-of-a-kind, and you never know what to expect from this character. Strong, witty, clever, and has a heart. No-matter what the situation is in different events, Madea will make you laugh, but deep-down inside, she has also helped others in different ways of emotional support. A Fantastic Comedy. Acting Performance Excellent. Loved the New York scene, but there are many entertaining scenes.A Must-See, Must-own! Very Enjoyable and Highly Recommended!

Don't get me wrong this movie was gr8, but it wasn't Tyler's best! But regardless of the little flaws, I still loved it because Madea always has me laughing my a** off!! Just take it for what it is and enjoy! (^_^)

It is a must see! Tyler Perry stays true to who Madea is. I have never laughed so much in a movie theater. See it and add it to your Madea collection.

1.0 out of 5 stars Huh? The best part was the outtakes at the end November 9, 2012
Format:Amazon Instant Video
When Madea got off the stage and started making movies it was the beginning of the end. As Tyler Perry's ego grew and grew, Madea's satire slowly died off. If you go back to Madea's old VHS off-off-way off broadway stage plays, you'll see why Tyler Perry as Madea became an instant hit. Madea was someone every African American could relate to; we all had a "Big Mama" that took care of everybody, went to church and cursed up a storm if you teed her off, kept a loaded weapon in her purse and you suspected might be smoking weed when the kids went to bed. This matriarch of the family always had your back. When it got bad, your family's version of Madea is what pulled everyone through. That was why Madea was so beloved. It was a spot on routine of a regular family.

I got the impression that Madea was suddenly taking on a family placed in witness protection, because it was too difficult to think of a better story line in which Madea and Eugene Levy could interact. Here we have Tyler Perry and Eugene Levy. Two great comedians, naturally funny and incredibly talent human beings... instead I felt I was watching a very poor rendition of Scooby Doo.

Where is Mr. Brown and Cora Simmons and the rest of the early 90's crew to bring back the funny? In any case, would I recommend this movie to a friend... only if they didn't have to pay to see it - and you have to have absolutely nothing else better to do with your time.

I actually love Tyler Perry and have a been a loyal fan, but give me something for my loyalty... at least make me laugh when I pay to watch your "comedic" movies.

1.0 out of 5 stars You gotta be kidding! June 15, 2013
Format:Amazon Instant Video
So I had heard of this fellow that stars in this film and I really tried to like the movie but it never worked out. The whole think is just a hacked up exaggeration for humors sake. The trouble is: it's not funny. The film portrays Black Americans as stupid, shallow and one dimensional. I can't imagine folks NOT getting upset and offended by this film no matter what race they are. It seemed like a constant cycle of vulgar, homey wisdom spoken too loudly by an uncultured, abrasive black lady. I am glad the actors got paid for this but it had to seem wrong to get paid for something this stupid and if they convinced themselves that what they were doing was a good story or a good movie then they need to get a good friend that will tell them the truth. I will not waste my time on the other films in this series because I am sure it's just more of the same. How sad.
