Rhyme inspector emcee Percee P!!! {4.5 stars},

17 tracks with an intro and outro. This album is dope. Percee P a true lyricist with production by madlib has successfully pulled off a modern album that has a very "old school" feel to it. I was little scared to purchase the album at first due to there were so many tracks on the album. Normally once you get over 12 tracks on the album there is a some filler in the album. This is not the case in this album. Percee P delivers dope verses on every song and brings in dope guest appearances to help out (PRINCE PO!!!!!). Madlib does a good job bringing an old school feel to the beats and uses some funky samples. I took off .5 due to a couple of the beats didn't work for me. Cop the album!!!!!

Rome wasn't built in a day...,

Percee P is a Bronx-based MC who has been in the rap game since 1979 (he was born in 1971). 29 years is a long time to wait for your debut but this is worth the wait. The album is entirely produced by the finest and most underappreciated producer today, Madlib. If you are a little disillusioned with the state of hip-hop/rap in 2007, as I am, this album is a breath of fresh air - ironically from someone who has been at it for so long.
What I enjoy most about this album is its lack of pretense. Percee P doesn't need to boast and brag. He knows his pedigree. Just because he's waited this long to release his debut does not belittle the fact that he's worked with Big Daddy Kane, Kool Keith, Lord Finesse, Jurassic 5, Aesop Rock (who makes a fine appearance on this album), et al. Astute lyrics and cerebral production make for a fine album. Show Percee P some love and cop his debut album.

Worth every penny, too bad it took him so long.,

1rst thing I noticed is his voice changed, his rhyme patterns are still the same but the voice is deeper now. Mad Lib has great production on this one, sounds like his signature intentional unrefined but professional production. All the guest spots are solid, he still managed to outshine all of them though. My favorite track at the moment is "Last of the Greats". Hopefully he will be coming out with some more material now.
