I had recently got the cutest little Persian Kitten. As a new cat owner I purchased this book to get information specific to the breed. Outside a few pages of breed information, history and pictures, everything else was just general cat information. I would have expected more on breed care, grooming, and health concerns.

I never thought I'd want or own a cat, until one evening in December when an under fed, Persian kitten decided to adopt our family.

I got 2 Persian books based on the Amazon reviews, and out of the 2 this book was the best for me. It does have beautiful photos, but to me the information in this book was priceless seeing that I knew nothing about cats. I do wish there was a section on what to do if you've been "adopted" by your kitten or cat that also gives some basic cat care that could apply to Persians and other breeds for people like myself who know nothing about cats.

This book also has only 5 pages on breeding & care of kittens and only 1 small page on showing your cat, which was perfect for me since our cat will only be a family cat! If you are planning on breeding and showing your cat you might want to pick up Guide to Owning a Persian Cat by Juliet Seymour since it goes into much more detail than this book. If your cat is destined to be the family lap cat, this is the book for you!

PS: Our kitten is just the sweetest, talking kitten that made me the dog lover that I am, just in love my cat!

This book covers ALL cats in general, it's not specific enough for Persians.
Dissappointing.

The photos inside are very nice but it doesn't represent the standart of persian cat. Here in Brazil the Persian cat is very diferent. Persian's face (principally Persian's nose) is much more different than it is showing in this book.

This book is a great basic overview about persian cats. It addresses a bit of the history of the breed, health tips, grooming, common characteristics of the persian, and tips for selecting a cat. However, there are no photographs of the flat faced persian. Instead, all photographs pictured are of the doll faced breed. This book serves as an introduction to the persian, and illustrates little detail.

I liked the box, was in good condition, and found the book informative and answered several questions which was my reason for purchasing the book. I was very well satisfied with the book and the quality of the product. Would purchase with that company again.

This book gives just a general overview of cat care. It is good if you have never owned a cat before and need just general info. I was disappointed because it didn't give many specifics on Persian cats.

This book is a good book for its size that does covers the basics that you need to know.Shows many variations of the Persians.For me personally finding a book that shows the blue eyed Chinchilla was a bonus.Plenty of colour photos throughout.

If you are thinking of buying a Persian Cat this book will be a good start.Plenty of information here.For its size the book has a lot going for it.The photos are a treat,You're gonna love the photos in this book! This book has a lot to offer and is good value.Overall,a good quality book.

I would suggest that this book be your first book on Persians then consider books on how to look after your kitten(s) and even the Cat encyclopedia type books after.
