This review is from: Persian Gulf: Atlas Of Old & Historical Maps (3000 B.C. - 2000 A.D.), volumes 1 and 2 (Hardcover)
Since the 1960s, starting with Gamal Abdul Nasser some of the Persian Gulf's Arabs and their states has often used the name Arabian Gulf for the body. This is controversial and not commonly used outside of the Arab world, nor is it recognized by United Nations and other international organizations as historically the name is Persian Gulf.
Atlas of Persian Gulf is valuable archive of over 2300 maps from museums, libraries and private collections to confirm the historical name of the Persian Gulf. |
