5.0 out of 5 stars Great mix of musical traditions
This is an exciting realization of a Persian theme adapted to Western scales, harmonies and a modern beat. The adaptation of an ethnic tradition for a wider audience is one of the pleasures and indeed responsibilities of a composer trained in both classical and ethnic musical traditions. 4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice composition. Very nice first recording by artist., June 11, 2000

This CD is a single, with a pop and a dance version of the song. The melody is very nicely composed, and has a dinstinct persian tone. The artist has skillfuly blended the persian melody with western style beat and harmonizing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Encounter of East and West, August 14, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Persian Rhapsody (Audio CD)
Any piece of art that can transfer the feelings of the artist to the audience could be beautiful. When we can share those feelings then we love it and appreciate it. Persian Rhapsody is like that. The mystery, melacholy, and nostaligic side of Persian music is under the influence of western music. This is an expression of the artist experience. Persian Rhapsody is soft, delicate, and yet modern.

Shahriar, aka Jerry, has floored us yet again with an inspiring collection of Persian melodies...It has a relaxing tempo - perfect for background music while entertaining guests over wine and cheese or Fondue!
Definitely worth the price - Great Stocking stuffer gift idea!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Combination of the classical and ethnic music, June 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Persian Rhapsody (Audio CD)
I lovedthe way the music combines the elements of traditional Persian music with classical as well as modern rythmes and beats. As you listen to the music you imagine the sea and it is almost like hearing the waves.
