Frankly I was disappointed. I found the quality of imagery a bit lacking and some of the inclusions inexplicable. I thought the technical aspects of the text was okay but would have appreciated a more thorough discussion of chemical v natural dies, imagery comparisons etc. The coverage on tribal rugs was limited. Having said that, I gave the book to a friend, who loves it - despite the odd carpets of the Queen etc.

I must admit that the steep price made me hesitate. the book went into, and out of, my cart a few times.
However, it is important to remember that great books cannot be judged solely by cost. In the final analysis, this book will remind you, every time you open it, that your money has been VERY well spent. |
