Persil Color Gel is the best HE detergent,
By Fer360 (New England, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Persil Gel (Colors Formula) (Kitchen)
I had never heard of Persil laundry detergent before I purchased my new Miele washer and dryer.
I was skeptical that just one capful (2 tablespoons) could clean a full load of dirty laundry. A 1.5L bottle will clean about 40 loads (The front label only says 20 loads because of the harder water in Europe.) Persil cleans better than anything I have ever used. Not only will it remove old stains from my clothes, it does so without fading the color. It even removed old stains from Downey Fabric softener that an overnight soaking in Tide wouldn't touch. One of the best things I like is the wonderful light scent it leaves on my clothes. I love the smell of Persil. My only complaint is that Henkel only imports 1.5 liter bottles into the US/Canada. In Europe it is also available in 3.0L, 4.5L and 6.75 liter bottles.

My Beautiful Laundrette,
By MoneyMagnet2004 (Los Angeles, California) - See all my reviews

I just bought a Bosch Axxis Washer and Dryer and decided to use Persil after hearing that it was recommended by the Miele line of washer and dryers. If it's good enough for one kind of German, it must be good enough for the other.
I had never heard of this detergent but my European partner recognized the name instantly because "Everybody in England uses Persil." Moreover, I never liked doing laundry or any other household chore. But the new w/d was so cute and i was fascinated by all the rave reviews of Persil I had read on Amazon and other sites so I decided to give it at a go. Wow, wow and more wow. I did a load of colors and my pink t-shirt came out pinker than when I had first bought it. I tossed in a periwinkle blue towel that a construction worker must have used to clean the floor with, it was so disgusting, but it came out good as new except for one little mark, which I think will go the next time I do the laundry. This thing really makes the colors pop! As for expense, we have soft water so i used HALF the recommended amount, basically a spitful of detergent, and that was plenty. So I will end up getting double the number of loads that the bottle says I will. I also bought the universal megaperls for whites and can't wait to try that out later this week! The best thing is the scent. I LOVE the fragrance of this detergent -- i don't find it strong or overpowering at all. I am now the officially designated launderer of the house. If you want to keep your clothes looking good, try this detergent. You won't regret it!

Works better than anything you will ever use,
By Heydekrug (Virginia) - See all my reviews

Persil is finally becoming popular in the US because of the advent of horizontal axis washers. You will notice immediately the results, especially in the long term effects on colors not fading. You use less but it still costs appoximately 2xs the price of Tide but it is worth it because you will not need to use additives.
