these are neat glasses. I don't really care about all of the folding business but I liked the metal finishings. They are sufficiently tinted and the polarizing works. I have a big head. It was difficult for me to figure out the Persol sizing system. Their website gives some insight. I bought the size '54' and they are 14cm wide. Size '56' is somewhat rare and is 14.5 cm wide. These were slightly small in width on me but persol has some nice flexors built into the arms of the glasses that make them comfortable any ways. I wear a 7" 5/8 hat for reference.

One overused but apt word to describe these sunglasses: cool. The Persol 714 series are legendary having been worn most famously by Steve McQueen in "the Thomas Crown Affair" in a custom blue lens version. I went with the Havana/Brown combo and have now had my pair for right at a year. And after a year I have mostly positive things to say about them.

For the price I paid on here for my 714s which is what I have previously paid for Ray-Bans the quality is unbeatable. The frames are made of high quality acetate and the lenses are of excellent crystal. The folding element is interesting and makes them more compact for carrying/storage but it also creates a potential issue. If one isn't careful with folding them and putting the included cloth in between lens and frame, the sunglasses can damage themselves due to the sharp edges on some of the folding points. One other issue is the screws on the bridge that allow the folding action tend to be a bit loose and tightening them usually only works for a brief period before they are loose again.

But really those are the only cons. The 714s are very comfortable due to the "Meflecto" stem. The arms adjust to the wearers head and become quite easy to wear without sliding off the face. The Brown(non-polarized on mine)lenses do a good job of blocking rays but still keeping your field of vision bright with no warping/distortion.

After what I paid for these I will never again pay full price for a pair of ray-bans. I would not pay the full Persol retail of $350 or so for these because no pair of sunglasses is worth $350. After all they're just sunglasses. Having said that these are by far the best pair of sunglasses I have ever owned. I have received many compliments and even I think I look pretty damn cool in them.

Excellent quality and very stylish, classy sunglasses. Hand made in Italy and polarized lenses, not an ordinary product. It usually costs twice as much in regular retailers, but don't be afraid, I bought one of those and they are 100% original and came in perfect conditions.

This is an excellent product. These glasses are very stylish; several friends have commented that the "Italian style" really comes out, particularly in the "havana brown" frame. Another fun feature is that the frame material is translucent enough for you to see the metal mechanisms embedded in the frame. This very "trick" for the meflecto flexible earpiece. Some of the best lenses in any sunglasses; very clear images without any artifacts. You would not expect that sunglasses could ooze technology, but the Persol 714s certainly do. The detents in the hinges are great when the glasses unfold and "lock" into place. The glasses are comfortable for hours.

i own a pair of Persol 3020 i purchased from a authentic optics store they great , heavy , sturdy , hinges are tight, glass lenses .
i was skeptic on purchasing Persols for only $200 but i thought i would give it a try ... when i received the 714 i purchases from the Aspecs i was disappointed i looked them over very closely first they weight was off they were to light , the hinges were loose one fell when turned the other stayed i looked at the hinge and it was showing early signs of RUST!!! i think the lenses were plastic as well but not sure , the writing on the inside arm the numbers to letter ratios were off .On another note i do advice the Persol brand i love my real ones and Amozon has a easy and great return policy .

Perfect sunglasses with great polarization. I love the style, and build quality is top notch. The lenses are fantastic, and I never have to squint. I'm continually complimented on how nice they look, and I tend to agree. I would warn any other buyers about resting them on top of your head, as it seems to stretch out the arms a bit. Also, the central bridge area does tend to loosen over time, and may need periodic re-tightening. Overall, an excellent, unique product. This pair may have made me a loyal Persol buyer in the future.

I am very pleased with these glasses. They are very good at filtering sunlight and look like a million bucks. The only negative to me is that the arms are a bit short and do not quite reach all the way on my ears.
