5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST LIVE ALBUMS EVER, March 29, 2000
This review is from: Person to Person (Audio CD)
Few live albums actually capture the true essence of an actual concert. This album provides you the opportunity to experience an AWB concert. All of the songs are tight and the group shows off their superior musicianship by playing several solos and stretching their wings on almost every track. It is a one of a kind experience that every true fan of AWB must have in their collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST LIVE ALBUMS EVER RECORDED!, July 10, 2001
This review is from: Person to Person (Audio CD)
This album ranks as one of the best soul live albums of all time!! It is right up there with Earth, Wind & Fire's "Gratitude" album. This CD has all the AWB jams we all love. "Cut the cake", "If I ever lose this heaven", "Schoolboy Crush", "TLC" and an incredible 18+ minute set of the alltime AWB favorite "Pick up the pieces". I kind of wish they put "Soul Searching" and "A Love of our own" on this CD but there plenty of hits to keep you in a definite funk groove. The sound is crisp and clear and still rocks as great today as they did making this album in '76. A MUST FOR ANY TRUE AWB FAN!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the Greatest Live Albums of all time, December 26, 1999
This review is from: Person to Person (Audio CD)
Most Concert albums of bands suck. This one doesn't. I think songs such as I'm the One, Pick Up the Pieces, and T.L.C. are better on this then they are in the studio. Pick Up the Pieces has a solo by everyone in the band, making it more then 18 minutes long.

Overall, it's one of, if not, the best concert albums in exsitence. It's not a must have unless you like the Average White Band and / or need something to introduce your-self to the members of the group.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you never seen them live....this is it!, March 5, 2005

A must have for any R&B Soul collection....I've seen AWB back in the early 80's at the front row theatre in Cleveland before some of the original members went there separate ways. And that concert along with some new material from the Shine album was on the money hearing those classic tunes, keep in mind I was at the
age of 9 or 10 I still have my ticket stub from the concert and good thing my older brother show me at a young age to appreciate
good music...even now my collection is filled with classics such
as this one.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Luv AWB, September 25, 2007

Excellent CD-I have played it almost daily for a month! Love that Hamish Stuart. He's doing his own thing now, but the replacements on the drums and lead singer belong right where they are. There is no change in the excellent sound of AWB even though only two original members remain. If you can, go see them in concert yourself. AMAZING

This record has been one of my favourits ever since I was a teenager. It never lost its sparkle during the last 25 years! Don't hesitate, just by it, put on your headphones and enjoy. I particulary like this live version of " pick up the pieces".

Just the guys showing that they sound just as good (although I think better) live as they do in the studio. Check out how they redid T.L.C. a tight joint from their first album (Show Your Hand)it is the #%!@# B O M B
