My Review

Personal branding is an important part of life, whether applying for a new job, blogging like myself, or even meeting a friend out and about for coffee. Personal branding, put simply, is being aware of how you are representing yourself (or your company), and the message you are sending to others. First impressions stick (whether we like that or not) and this book helps you become aware of the brand you are representing.

Conclusion
I liked that this book delves into the undercarriage of personal branding, as well as the usual idea of how to have a good personal brand. I enjoyed reading about why it is important to "take responsibility" for the brand I represent. It covers all the aspects of how to not only make your brand, but be memorable and different.

I enjoyed the chapter that speaks about your future personal brand. Chapter three mentions how to take notice of your current interests, and see where it projects you to be in the future. I believe if you have a clear view of where you are going in the future, the transition from present to future will be a smooth one. I am a firm believer of thinking ahead, and this chapter definitely appealed to my interests. The book also teaches you how to maintain the relationships you make, to ensure a brighter future. I believe this is strong, solid advice for anyone in the blogging industry (or likewise). Making relationships is a great start, but maintaining them is the best of both worlds.

Overall, I found this book to be very informative. I would highly suggest it to any blogger, small business owner, or friend. I believe it helps you discover yourself along with talents you have, and look towards the future of your company (or personal interests).

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Let me start by saying that this book has a lot of good information in it but I couldn't get into it. I had to read the same pages several times because I would get bored my mind would wonder. I just couldn't get into this book like I have been able to do with other books but it does have great information on it and I really can help bloggers with their branding.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh... January 9, 2012
By Liz R.
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm a mommy/housekeeping blogger. I think this would be better for people who are in the corporate world and get a lot of face time. It's all pretty much common sense stuff. I didn't like how it was written. The first part was written by one author and the next section written by the second author. Their styles of writing are very different; they should have collaborated together to write the book with a more consistent writing style.

That said, it does have helpful information about what personal branding is. The second half of the book has exercises for you to research yourself online and how to improve how you want yourself to be viewed.
