This review is from: The Personal Journey Workbook (Spiral-bound)
Along with many other leaders in the areas of mindfulness and personal development, the founder of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, former astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell, has noted "Most of us have accumulated this body of ideas that make up our belief system through external authority rather than through our own quest and original insight." As a student of the school that publishes it, I appreciate The Personal Journey Workbook as a complement to the awareness training classes at the school, which help facilitate that kind of personal inner quest. The book includes a sequence of self-paced lessons and exercises with carefully designed questions for making written responses. The series of chapters are designed to explore beliefs and emotions, and to develop an awareness that is free of old, limiting patterns. In a review in Science of Mind magazine, Kathy Juline wrote "most of us encounter a roadblock of old fears or negative thinking, impediments that seem to keep us stuck. A way through them is provided in The Personal Journey Workbook... The journey offered here is one of spiritual transformation, resulting in enhanced creativity, capacity for loving, and authentic self-expression." The workbook deals with actual life events, and is a powerful, experiential approach without any dogma, or esoteric language or exercises.
