5.0 out of 5 stars NKJV great package!, May 13, 2009
This is a great edition of the NKJV Bible. The print is a near perfect size with a darker letter tone. It's really a great deal for the size of the Bible itself. I really like the New King James version bible and this edition gives you plenty of references in the text and alternate readings of other manuscripts. The binding seems to be top notch too. I always loved the King James Version but this NKJV is the icing-on-the-cake in my opinion. If you're thinking about this version, pick this one up and you won't be disappointed. For its size it's near perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars NKJV Bonded Leather ISBN-10-0718013514, September 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a 1982, Thomas Nelson Bonded Leather NKJV Bible. I will compare this Bible with my 1992 NKJV Genuine Leather version from the same publisher. First of all, it has 1426 pages (not 1,536) from Genesis to Revelation, while my Leather version has 1678. The concordance has 60 pages compared to 40 pages on mine, so the concordance does not account for such a difference in the number of pages. While the font size looks the same, the type is different in that in the bonded version the words are sort of longer, while on mine they seem to be taller. Also, the bonded version has a good, dark font; but mine is visibly darker. Other than that, both fonts look the same size and are extremely easy to read even in poor light conditions. Still, I use my reading glasses not to get tired as I am an avid reader of the Scriptures. The cover is very well made and even when it is bonded leather (real leather fibers compressed and glued together), the pattern and texture does a good job in bringing a leather look to it. However, when you touch the surface there is a light difference between them, being the bonded one a little stiffer and not so smooth and supple as the real thing. Still, beats the imitation leather version. The size is an actual 8.75" X 6" X 1.25", same size as mine although I think mine is a hair thicker probably due to more pages. They both have the same maps at the end and the same number pages at the begining, with both having a 3 pages preface before the abbreviation section. The bonded version has book introductions in both the Old and the New Testaments, not found on mine. The concordance on both are at the bottom of the pages on both, not between columns and they are exactly the same. I paid about $36 for the leather version and less than $17 for the bonded one, shipping included. Based on the differences between them, and the price, if you don't need a leather covered Bible the bonded one should be more than enough, specially if it is intended as a gift. If you, in the other hand, want the best material in the best book around, then I strongly recommend the beauty and suppleness of leather.
