Great personality book,
This review is from: The Personality Code (Hardcover)
This is an intriguing book that I enjoyed reading. It sucked me in right away with the fascinating opening story of twins who, despite being reared apart in vastly different homes, ended up being virtually identical adults in their interests and behavior.
The book illustrates 14 unique personality types that come from the author's research with a global sample of half a million people. The whole idea is that you can't change your personality in adulthood, so you better learn the ins and outs of what makes you tick. Including in this exploration is how to get along better with other people based upon their personality type, and how to understand your anti-type--the personality of people you are bound to clash with if you aren't careful. The book includes access to an online test that identifies your personality type and presents lots of useful information on your strengths and potential Achilles' heel. It also suggests jobs you are suited for based upon your personality.

Good Book,

Fun to read
I really enjoyed the author's writing in this book. Dr. Bradberry has influenced me to learn more about myself and to explore the perspectives of others. I enjoyed the stories, understood the research, and the test that comes with the book is top-notch. I have benefited so much from this information I hope everyone who comes in contact with this information have the same revelations as I did.

Do you know your personality type?,
This review is from: The Personality Code (Hardcover)
This book has some really great stories that illustrate how important personality is in determining what motivates us, what we're good at, and which people and situations will make us successful (or cause us to crash and burn). It teaches the DISC model of personality which I liked much better than Myers Briggs and strengths-based approaches. It also includes access to an online test (via a unique passcode that is printed in the book) and you use that to determine your personality type. A real bonus and makes the book a great value for the money.

Increases your self-awareness,
This review is from: The Personality Code (Hardcover)
Personality is such a big part of who we are. It's something that doesn't change throughout your adult life. That's why it's so important to know your personality profile, and I found this book to be a great way to go about doing that. It teaches you the 14 personality types and includes access to an online test that tells you which type you are and uses video to show the various personality types in action. This provides insight into what motivates you, what type of environment you'll thrive in, and which environments are bound to drain your energy and enthusiasm. It also shows you which people you are bound to click with, as well as which you are bound to clash with. The anti-type section (which shows you which personality type you will butt heads with the most) is particularly useful. I really enjoyed it and it's my favorite book on personality.

A twist on MBTI,
By
This review is from: The Personality Code (Hardcover)
In short, I liked the book. I took the test, found out I was an Innovator and found out who my antithesis is. All that being said, the iDISC is explained in laymen terms and makes a lot of sense. For those of us who are familiar and have used MBTI, this is along those lines and makes perfect sense.

Great work,
This review is from: The Personality Code (Hardcover)
The Personality Code is based on a study of 500,000 people from 94 counties to look at their 123,000 personality combinations. This led the researchers to 14 distinct human personalities, and they provide a test which you take online to find out which one you are (fyi, you need a new book to buy the test because there is a disposable access code inside).
The book has a really appealing message: you need to be astutely aware of your personality traits in order to use them to your advantage. This idea contrasts sharply with the traditional self-help book where you are encouraged to change into someone that you will never really become. This book shows you that isn't possible, but it shows you how to take full advantage of what you've got. It also looks into the why behind human personality, and shows you how it becomes fixed early in adulthood. The explanation is clear and quite fascinating.

Loved it,
This review is from: The Personality Code (Hardcover)
I was given this book as part of a leadership development program at my company. There's a code in the back of the book that you use to get online access to the IDISC Personality Profiler test. My personality profile was spot on, and I learned a lot about my coworkers from learning about their types. It was so spot on that I told my wife about it and she bought a copy. Turns out that she is my anti-type, which explains so much. We laughed about it, but it really provided some incredible insight into our relationship. Since we are anti-types we either really sync up because our unique qualities complement each other well, or we clash because we don't see eye to eye. The book itself is a really interesting read (has some great stories) and the test it includes is worth the price of admission by itself.

Become aware of who you are and how to use this to your advantage,
This review is from: The Personality Code (Hardcover)
Great work.
It examines the study of 500,000 people from 94 counties (large sample size), their 123,000 personality combinations and the resulted 14 distinct human personalities. The advice that appealed to me the most was to become aware of what my personality traits are and focus on using them to my advantage. This idea contrasts sharply with the traditional self-help books where one is encouraged to change to resemble someone he/she will never become. The book investigates the reasons behind human personality, how and when it solidifies and why we can't change who we are beyond a certain point in our lives. Very intriguing. I highly recommend it.

Not All That Insightful,
This review is from: The Personality Code (Hardcover)
After having read this book and taken the test I felt that it was a very underwhelming experience. The test was short and after getting the results I was questioning the accuracy and effectiveness of the test. After receiving the results the descriptions of each personality type is a bit vauge and uninsightful. The Myers-Briggs psychology test, which you can take for free online, is much more insightful and useful. Don't waste your money on this book.

This book is great to learn your personality but doesn't apply it to ideal jobs, relationships, etc., very well.
