These blades have become hard to find, so I got the Mach 3 razor. Nowhere near as good, so I'm switching back to the Matrix3.

Just to be clear, the biggest reason i bought this razor in the first place is it was the only non animal tested razor i could find. Being a 20+ year vegetarian I didn't feel right buying from companies i knew had tested their razors on animals. I once saw video footage of an infected rabbit limping around a cage in a lab owned by one of the major razor companies and the image stuck with me and changed my buying habits. With that said, yes this product is animal friendly and yes it is a solid product for a reasonable amount of money (i get a clean shave every time and I'm one of those guys who shaves in the morning and has scruff by midnight so I put a blade to a lot of use). Biggest problem? Hard to find in stores. It was once sold at W-Mart but it seems that it no longer the case? A shame. Buying animal friendly products is often expensive, though worth the money. I wish such things were more accessible.

Nicks, scrapes, not smooth. Total garbage; throwing mine away. Generic Tri-flex is much better.

I've got a nasty, tough, curly beard and with the better disposable and cartridge single or twin blades, I get at best a week's worth of shaving before they start pulling and nicking. My wife picked this one up at closeout store with the spare blades from the kit missing, but the next bin over had a handful of the refill holders loose. What the heck, it only cost a couple of bucks for the silliness of three blades.

I was impressed. Smooth shaves, cartridges lasted two or three weeks. The last replacement blade has a better edge than anything else I've tried to replace it with has after a few shaves. This thing was great.

Several years ago, I bought 40 Gil*** refill cartridges for a good price, and recently just used my last one. I don't like spending a lot of money on razors, so I thought I try another brand this time. Wally world had a good price on the Matrix3, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Not good. This razor, for some reason, doesn't shave well for me, scrapes, and nicks, especially on the neck. So, I tried a disposable Gil*** which gave a good shave without all the blood.
