Do you cut the hair of someone with coarse hair, and want to do something other than a buzz cut? This is your tool! With coarse hair, even many pros leave horrid chop marks.

The same techniques that work on my fine haired family members don't work on my coarse haired son. If I want to do something other than just a clipper cut, I cut it to shape with scissors as I would any of the others. Then I run this through, with the blending guard, to smooth out the rough spots. It is amazing how well this thing works. I have experimented with the other guards as well.

Yes, it does also work on the fine haired person, but it is the essential tool for coarse hair. I've also used it to repair professional haircuts.

There are smaller kits, but I figured that I'd pick up the full assortment, with all of the design guards in this one, I wouldn't have to go back out and buy more. I have had mine for a few years, and it has more than paid for itself in not having to take anyone out for professional cuts.

This is a nice light tool, not a heavy, fatiguing tool. It really is a fun tool to use, and gives spectacular results. You won't regret having this little gem in your goodie box.

Got this on a hunch as a straight razor. I've put it down just to write this review; immediately after I'm going to continue shaving people's faces at red lights until my beard starts to grow back. Extremely well balanced, unbelievably light, a pleasure to use -- get one and you'll have bald children and pets and neighbors in no time. Comes with 5 -- 55 less than pictured -- blades.

I am a self taught and i have to say this is a very nice tool! its very lightweight and a great priced, to me the blades are excellent and much better than other tools i've tried. great grip but not heavy. its amazing! i use it on myself, my husband and our 3 year old son! i can't live with out it and it paid for itself after i cut all three of our hair the first time!

I am very happy with this purchase, the only thing that keeps it from receiving 5 stars is that it is fairly difficult to change the heads on the shaper. The razors are very easy to insert and remove but swapping the heads is a challenge.
