Like many men in the world of..., you never, quite realize what you're missing until someone lays it out in front of your nose. Michael Daniels has achieved that in "WOOF!" - allowing for some serious insights into a scene that many may have glimpsed only from the periphery, thinking there was little else to it than costumes and juvenile role paying. He gives the dog play world a fully fleshed out manifesto filled with depth and heart, as well as thoroughly documented detail. (Also some wonderful bits of artwork and a bonus short story at the...ahem...tail end the the book.) If you have ever wondered what it would take to unleash your inner species, then "WOOF!" will open the doors in a way none other before it could.

Michael Daniels has written a book that is very practical in content and is careful to make the very important distinction between the world of fantasy and the world of reality, which can be a major pitfall for so many persons attracted by the allure of the notion of living as a human dog or human dog owner. By dealing with the subject manner in a very realistic, matter-of-fact manner, the author presents very useful material that any person interested in this particular lifestyle would do well to read the book if for no other reason than to get a good understanding of what can be realistically expected from the lifestyle and what is storybook fiction. Mr. Daniels handles that aspect of his subject matter in a most professional manner.

The author states at the outset that he is a gay Master and can only write from that perspective. He expresses no disrespect to anyone in his opening statements, and in the text of his book, he makes references to pansexual lifestylers as well. The cartoons that appear throughout the book, however, are characteristic of gay literature, as are the advertisements and additions in the book. At times the language in the book does seem to cater specifically to gays and to exclude the non-gay population. While this feature of the book may disturb some readers, it is highly advisable that readers who find such signs of gender orientation troubling keep an open mind when reading the book, because the content is well worth reading for anyone who is involved in the lifestyle, if for the relevancy alone, because a more pragmatic manual would be hard to find.

This book is AMAZING! Amoung it being one of the first to directly hit puppy play, it takes the leather community by storm. Very in depth, detailed, and quite a good read. As a pup myself, this gets two paws up!

I have to say this book was amazing. I am into puppy play and I thought I knew a lot that is untill I started reading this book. Its a good way to start learning about or improve on puppy play skills; I highly recommend it to pups and trainers alike. Great book overall.

I play in a Male/female setting and while this book is written from more of a Male/male perspective it is still informative and fun with lots of great ideas. A wonderful read. I do not recommend Grrr, which are a bunch of male/male perspective erotic stories on puppy play and at least for someone into the Male/female perspective it held very little interest and nothing educational.
