Persuading The Playboy King,
By Rho C. (Fort Worth, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Persuading The Playboy King: The Royal Wager (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
If you're a fan of monarch or medical themes, then you'll love this romance. As a matter of fact, there are two love stories involved here. Also lots of twists and turns. Of course there's a dasterly doctor who means the hero and heroine no good. But, as usual, Kristi balances that with her one of a kind sense of humor. She created a personal assistant to the King that will keep you in stitches, laughing at his unique ways of addressing the monarch. That is, even if he's in a dilemma or not. Excellent love story! Can't wait to see what happens when the King's two college buddies get their turns as The Royal Wager miniseries continues!

Dr. Kate Milner is a pretty unexciting heroine as far as I am concerned. She thinks she can handle alot more than she really can. And as far as being a doctor, I hardly beleived it. She had not passion for her job, it seemed almost entirely a means of bringing her to Doriana to be with Marc. Her ease with the baby has nothing to do with any medical insight.
As for the villian, he had no motive except for being slimy. He has this burning need to bring down the newley crowned king, but why? The reason is never given. The insta attraction in this book just seemed, wrong to me. Of course Kate had insta attraction several years ago when she first met Marc. I did think it was cute how she was the only person he has ever had to rely on (initially as a chemistry tutor and now as a friend). The most interesting bit of this book is when we finally learn of the little baby's parentage and how she came to be on the palace doorstep, as it were. That was a very endearing story. All-in-all this book made very little impression on me. |
