4.0 out of 5 stars I like it., February 21, 2010
By
This review is from: Perverse Recollections of a Necromangler (Audio CD)
I give Perverse Recollections Of A Necromangler a four out of five stars. I like the music, so what. If you don't then I don't judge you. Most people can't stand the vocals of the lead singer, well I think it fits the style of music. I also listen to other stuff like Cannibal Corpse, Gorerotted, Carnifex, Whitechapel, ECT... And I think the whole album is very tolerable.
Best tracks are: Blood Splattered Satisfaction, Connoisseurs of Death, Chased Through The Woods By A Rapist, and Tire Iron Emblugeonment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fit For a Skeetshoot, that's for sure, January 15, 2011
This review is from: Perverse Recollections of a Necromangler (Audio CD)
My god. What the hell is this? First off, while I prefer more death/trash than "core" bands (whatever the hell that means) and don't listen to much death core (or whatever. I mean who cares?), I don't really hate the bands. There not much thing and I don't really care about the scene, but I'm not going to start trash talking the genre because, well, I think you get the point (music is subjective blah blah blah). So let me say that I'm writing a review for this band not because I'm some angry old death metal purist, I'm writing this because the music is not too far off in the heights of Brokencyde in terms of sheer ineptitude.

You know Mystery Science Theater 3000, right? It's albums like this where I wish that there was a group of people willing to release separate audio tracks to riff upon awful and inept, but unintentionally hilarious, music. This band can't write a convincing song to save their life. Awful guitars that have been recycled a million times before. Sloppy, aimless, and dull drums. And, lest I forget, easily some of the stupidest, weakest, and ear shattering attempts at growling I have ever heard. Absolutely hilarious despite it's ineptitude, I think you need to hear it to realize why even hardcore scene kids think this clown gives the genre a band name. Add to that some of the thinnest, most dull production that make it sound like it's coming out of a Fischer Price Tape record and you got one heck of a turd.

If you want a case in point, listen to the song "Chased Through The Woods By A ________". Listen to those lame Iron Maiden-rip off riffs that sound like they were copied from a sound bank. Listen to those vanilla drums where the guy mindless and sloppily bangs out the same panicky blast beats over and over again like a caveman. Listen to those vocals that sound like somebody went into their bathroom and was in the process of vomiting with frustration. That's an easy criticism, but they don't sound like a person trying to growl, but the sound of vomiting. Then shut it off before you lose your ears.

Skip this one, save your precious ears from getting slaughtered with a cordless drill. Whether you like death, trash, power, core, metal, math-metal, whatever, avoid this like the plague. You deserve better.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Kill someone and kill them in the most gruesome way possible", July 25, 2010
This review is from: Perverse Recollections of a Necromangler (Audio CD)
This album is similar to driving a semi truck with a giant snow shovel mounted to the front bumper and fully automatics bolted to the sides driving down a two lane highway going about 300MPH right into pedestrians. On a serious note the album is a seriously fast paced ride, i have listened to alot of music and i can tell you this is not your average metal, the very essence of it is made of death, speed, and murder.
There is no album that will make you want to kill someone more than this one. some of the strongest stuff i have heard yet, if it were an energy drink, you wouldin't survive through it plain and simple. The album has no reason behind it, their are no lyrics here that will get you thinking about politics, meaning of life, where you go before you die or even how depressed you are. The lyrics are simple, kill someone and kill them in the most gruesome way possible or if their a girl rape them in the worst most horrifying way possible then slit their neck open and dump them in the river. But on the flipside it is also something that is fresh and it is a very rare sound, there is close to nothing like it and to me this album is a gem for the fact that they took a dive into something that has not been done yet and prevailed. I will be buying the next album.
