Product Description for Pest Control for Organic Gardening - Natural Methods for Pest and Disease Control for a Healthy Garden

Does putting toxic chemicals on your garden, especially when growing
vegetables, herbs and fruits concern you? It should, as these can pose
health risks to your families, pets and the environment. Yet, there is a
problem. How do you defend your garden from various pests and diseases that can destroy a garden?

Pest Control for Organic Gardening is an e-book for gardeners (especially
helpful for beginner gardeners), that gives practical and sometimes surprising
methods to address these problems in biological and natural means.

Organic foods grown on your own are healthier, safer, delicious, and fresher
than their counterparts, which are chemically treated. It also promotes a
healthier environment for everyone.

Growing your own organic food can reduce your grocery bills and is an
enjoyable hobby at the same time. Even if you don't have the space or time for a
full blown vegetable garden, raised beds or container gardens are great

healthy harvest. Download your copy now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great info with lots of links August 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The best chapter in this book by far is the one regarding beneficial insects for your garden. I had no idea the praying mantis could grow large enough to kill rodents, or that in many areas it's a crime to kill one! There are also lots of links to follow up and find out more about insects you are considering for your own garden.

The chapter on composting was also good, from a general overview perspective, and the benefits to your garden from composting. I never knew composting could help prevent garden pests! You'll probably need more details to build your own composting system.

I was less thrilled with the chapter on natural pest deterrent mixtures. Although it listed the main ingredients that you would need to include, there was no recipe for how to combine the ingredients, what you needed to combine them with, and how you should apply the mixture.

Surprisingly, there was nothing about building bat boxes or bird boxes to encourage insect-eating bats and birds to live near your garden. Probably because the insects they eat, such as mosquitoes, pester humans not plants, and this book was geared toward getting rid of the pests that can destroy your garden plants.

It's a quick read, and will give you plenty to think about. Our home is next to a nature preserve, so we're can't use any pesticides or fertilizers that can run off into the preserve. This book provided a lot of options for us to consider.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great advice August 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am really impressed by the information provided in this book. One major point that stood out to me was the large list of beneficial insects that is provided, I always assumed lady bugs were the best choice but now I know of many more different insects that can aide me in my gardening that I wasn't aware of before. What I admire the most about this book is the fact that it emphasizes on a natural, no pesticide& no synthetic fertilizer approach. It's just what I have been looking for because I have never been a fan of unnatural additives. I am looking forward to trying out some of the methods outlined in this book and introducing some different insects into my garden. I am very excited to see how my next crops will turn out

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource! November 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Over the years, I have been replacing harmful chemicals with organic options in my own gardens. This organic gardening book was perfectly laid out. It was easy to read through & understand. I loved the way it blanketed different aspects of healthy gardening: from helpful insects, & non-toxic sprays, to beneficial mulching. I could tell that the author loves gardening as much as I do. This precious little book reads like my own best friend was sitting down with me, sharing helpful information, over a cup of hot tea!!! I love this book! I will definitely be referring to this book for years to come!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Natural Pest Control Guide March 7, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is easy to understand, and I really enjoyed it. I liked how this book includes an extensive list of many beneficial insects, as well as how you have utilize these insects to solve many of your pest problems in the garden. It is true that organic food is much healthier than foods treated with pesticides. However, an organic garden will have some huge pest problems that inhibit you from having a good crop. This book explains in great detail how you can solve these pest problems with natural & organic solutions.
This is a lot of info here.
Overall, I definitely recommend this book. This book is very useful for organic gardening.

The book is a little simple for a guy who has done this for years but even a simple book can have a few new ideas. This is a perfect book because it helps the beginner as well as teaches an old dog a few new tricks..... 5 stars in my opinion and I honestly mean that.
