I bought one for myself and my aunt... they work wonderfully. The ramp is collapsible, lightweight (though it easily accomodates large breed dogs), and much better for the hips of aging pets than stairs are. I use this as a ramp to my bed, but it's made for cars.

DOESN'T WORK WITH REGULAR CAR DOORS,

This ramp does not work with regular car doors - car doors don't open 90 degrees, which they would need to do to accommodate this ramp. The ramp is useless unless you use it to load a dog into a hatchback type opening at the back of the vehicle. And that's assuming you want your dog to be in the cargo area, since if the dog can't get in the car by itself it can't climb over the backseat, either.

The pet ramp is a good size and easy to handle, however it is too slippery for our dog's comfort. After putting a rug securely on it, she is comfortable. She is a 62 lb bulldog, and just didn't feel secure on it as it came. Ever try to catch a scrambling big bulldog trying to go the opposite direction than you wanted it too ? Not good.Jean Seegmiller

I bought this pet ramp for my 9 year old lab/golden mix who has been having trouble getting in and out of the car lately. I also bought it for my Newfoundland puppy knowing that when he is full grown, at 130+ lbs, I might not be able to lift him. The lab mix accepted the ramp right away and has no trouble getting in or out of the car now. It took a little coaxing for the Newfoundland, but I hope over time he will learn to accept it as well. The ramp is sturdy and it looks like it will be able to hold up to the Newfoundland when he is full grown, but only time will tell. It folds down nicely to fit into the back of my car. The only negative about this ramp is it is a little shorter than I would like it to be. I have a Volvo wagon, which is not very high off the ground, and it is a pretty steep incline (one of the reason I think the Newfoundland puppy is hesitant). Overall I think this is a great product, I am very happy that I bought it, and I hope your pets will love it too!!

I'm going to have to put carpet over the blue section. It has absolutly NO TRACTION! We have an older dog who can't get her hind-end up into the van any more. I bought the ramp to save our backs from picking her up. It worked for the most part, except for the traction problem.

My mom and dogs are using this with no complaints. Maybe a bit heavy - but it is clearly sturdy. She has a couple of very large dogs and they all love it.

This is the best thing I ever bought for my aging dog.Despite its light weight, it is sturdy and takes both dog and human traffic. The gritty surface provides good traction, and I am partial to the color blue. I'm not sure when I bought this product, but it has lasted much longer than I thought it would. I didn't think the construction would hold up to the daily traffic of two dogs and two larger than average humans but it is working as well today as the day I bought it and I feel very confident when I put my weight on it. It took some time to convince the aging dog to use the ramp, but once I blocked in both sides giving it the appearance of having walls, it only took a few days for her to be comfortable with it and not need coaxing and treats to use it to go in and out. I do wish I'd gotten a ramp that was longer and wider. With the "walls" I've added it is difficult to walk up and down it with your hands loaded up with grocery bags. I wish it was longer because the door it's at has 3 steps but I only have the ramp going between the ground and the 2nd step (a 12" rise). If I put it between the ground and the top step (a 19" rise) the angle is too steep for both man and canine to walk up or down safely. I wold recommend this product and manufacturer to anyone who was looking for this type of product.

Doesn't work for cars without modification,

This ramp will not work for a car, it's clearly designed for a van or station wagon. The door of a sedan does not open wide enough to allow the dog to get around it. We made a bracket which fits over the storage area on the lower door. It allows the ramp to fit in at an angle so the dog can get in the car past the car door. After a bit of training he got the idea and it works fine.

I bought this for my dog who had back problems, it was way too steep and my dog had to jump about 3/4's of the way up to my bed because the measurement of the ramp on the description was incorrect. It totally defeated the purpose of my dog having to not jump. I had to go back to the stairs I had been using
