5.0 out of 5 stars Best Most Durable Comfortable Pet Bed Period
We have two Ridgebacks and have tried just about every bed on the market. They all end up in the garbage due to terminal smelliness, broken zippers, unwashable inner materials, faded dirty appearance, etc. These beds are, unless your dog is a big time chewer (which no bed will endure), indestructible, actually washable, look great wash after wash, return to their original...

2.0 out of 5 stars zero durability
the felt top is so thin, my dog tore into it instantly! Next came out the foam bed, which she shredded into a million pieces, then she got to the inner cedar beds. Well you can imagine the mess it made.

this bed lasted her a whole week. I cannot find anything for her. If you have an older, mellow dog, this would be a great bed. It is quite comfortable. But if...

We have two Ridgebacks and have tried just about every bed on the market. They all end up in the garbage due to terminal smelliness, broken zippers, unwashable inner materials, faded dirty appearance, etc. These beds are, unless your dog is a big time chewer (which no bed will endure), indestructible, actually washable, look great wash after wash, return to their original fluffiness and appearance after washing, do not shrink, fade or wear out and are simple to assemble and disassemble. They are constructed out of four parts: The outer shell which is fleece on the sleeping side and heavy duty nylon elsewhere, with 2 thick nylon pouches of cedar inside covered by an egg crate cushion which can easily be washed or replaced if needed (although we have not needed to replace ours in 4 years of everyday use). The shell zips open on 3 sides so the inside parts can be placed easily into it and then zipped up, rather than stuffed and shoved into a pilllow case type cover like most beds. The result is a thick mattress-like bed which provides superior cushioning to other foam filled beds or all-cedar beds. These beds are easy to clean effectively. After our dog vomited on one bed we took it apart and except for the cedar pouches, which needed only wiping, we hosed down the rest of the bed, left it outside in the rain for a week, ignored it as it dried on our back porch for a week and when we finally reconstructed it.....it was perfect. The other reviewers simply have understated the excellence of this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Bed - Great Price, June 24, 2008
This review is from: Pet Gear Nature's Foundation Pet Bed for cats and dogs up to 70-pounds, Blue Sky (Kitchen)
This dog bed is one of the first to stand up to the abuse of my 85 lb. dog and his scratching, pawing and pulling. Also the cedar chips a huge plus - the dog smells better. I am very happy with this bed.
