i'm an adult and had difficulty playing this game. i thought i was missing something, but i had no patience with this game. i was all geared up and excited to treat my first animal, the dog with the injured nose. except i couldn't figure out how to treat him! the game tells you nothing. no real hints, clues...nothing. the controls were too hard and non-intuitive. i kept putting cream on the dog's nose and hadn't the slightest clue what to do next. suffice it to say time ran out and the patient was still injured. i thought hmm, perhaps i should start with a smaller animal, so i opted for the frog. wrong! just as hard as the dog. i had no idea what to do first. the options that i thought might make the most sense (from my many days of watching animal cops on tv) were nowhere to be found. so i started taking stabs (literally) in the dark. i think i did more harm than good by unecessarily jabbing needles into the frog's back, and the owner was less than thrilled with my performance. i was trying things that i know you would logically never do in real life, but seriously, i felt like i had no options. i became frustrated playing pretend vet, so i decided to go and play with the shelter animals. boy was that a snooze fest. i tried it 4 times too many and decided i had had enough. after that first day i couldn't bring myself to even try playing this game again. i decided to cut my losses and trade it in at Game Stop. i wouldn't even be able to show my little cousin how to play it, because i totally didn't get it, so i wouldn't recommend this particular pet vet game. i'm sure there are better ones on the market, but this one cut all kind of corners and the gameplay is so mysterious, it's totally unfun. i guess i got what i paid for...

This was a gift for my 11 year old daughter. It is the worst WII game we have ever seen. The controls do not respond correctly and it is frustrating for both Kids and adults. I am shocked at how poorly it is done.

Navigating this game frustrated me. There were times when I knew what I wanted to do to try to treat the patient, and yet couldn't get the controller to zone in on the right area.

I thought it might just be me (an adult), but my kids had the same problem.

That said, the idea is wonderful, and IF someone could learn to navigate through, it would be a game that a child interested in vet science would probably like.

In addition to the patient treatment, there are some mini-games. They are easier to navigate, but unfortunately just not much fun.

I bought this for my 12 year-old since she loves animals. The animals were very cute, but the game itself is extremely frustrating. You have to have hands of steel to accurately select the required body areas, and to perform the services. Even feeding the animals was a bit of a challenge. After an hour of trying to play this game, she gave up, very frustrated and disappointed.

I recently played Pet Pals: Animal Doctor at my sister's house and I would say that I found it quite enjoyable, but I love animals and to me that is a key characteristic to liking this game. If you love animals or have kids that love animals then you will love this game. I mean you get operate on animals and save their lives. It is like operation 2008. Awesome.

None of the kids or teens in the neighborhood could get this game to work with the Wii controllers. It was so bad that the game never got played. It may need to be played with the Wii Classic controller. I don't know.

My daughter really wants to play this game. It has the potential to be a great vet simulator. Unfortunately, the controls are awful. It's almost impossible to select an animal to treat from the waiting room to start. Then there are no instructions as to what to do when you have the animal in the exam room, so each step of the exam and treatment process are guesswork. If you guess wrong, it deducts time from your score so you almost never complete an animal's care without running out of time.

I'd love to see this game redone! I think it could be a realistic view for kids into the world of veterinary medicine. Any game that can encourage an interest in math & science is a good thing. It's too bad this one just seems to frustrate!
