A new twist on a vet sim,

If you like vet sim games then you will like this sequel to Pet Pals: Animal Doctor even more. In the main game play you receive a patient and then you go through the steps to diagnose like taking the temperature, breathing rate, blood pressure and then treat the patient. The treatments are sometimes easy, but sometimes they can be a lot trickier when there are more steps involved. The twist is in this version is that you get to train and teach the animals new tricks in order to prepare them for adoption, which I find to be pretty neat. The woman talking to you can get a little annoying bc her voice is so high pitched, but I just turned down the volume at that point :) It felt like a more complete game because you took care of the animal from start to finish and it was a more satisfying experience. If you are an animal fan than you should check out this game.

A triumph for vet sims,

I worked for the Humane Society and having seen all the great adult pets who have been abandoned or born homeless, it is great to see a game that tackles the importance of pet adoption and makes it as fun for the player as it was when I worked there. I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was growing up and now my niece shares my love for animals, so I got her this game. I was wonderfully surprised to find that this game has included the usually overlooked message of pet adoptions (and for donating a portion of the proceeds to the Humane Society). The game is a solid vet sim and although it does get a little text heavy at times, it has a more complete and satisfying feel when you get to also provide the animals with a loving family to go home with. Kudos to Legacy for this!

A good game for children,

I picked up this game for my 11 year old niece and she loves it. It's a really positive game for children because it is age appropriate without being too childish. My niece likes the game because she gets to learn about animals and because it is not full of teddy bears and unicorns. She's at that age where she wants a more serious game but is still too young for most mainstream titles.
I was surprised by how much factual information this game contains and how much the player learns about animals. I even learned a couple things just watching her play for 10 minutes. In the game, the player is the new veterinarian at an animal rescue. The player must treat and diagnose each of the sick animals using a number of real medical tools. There are many different types of animals with different illnesses. I saw her playing a case where she had to amputate an iguana's infected finger! A note to parents: there is some blood in the game, but not a lot. There is also a lot of text, so this would be the perfect game to help practice reading. Also, the game tries to teach moral lessons about animal care and adoption so there is another plus.
