Almost hate to share this, because I really do believe this is a very well made food, but I can't get any of my 5 cats to eat it. I have been trying to get them on one or two foods, as opposed to the several they eat now, and I am fanatical about what they eat. After the recall last year, I did alot of research on cat foods. Finally decided to invest in the larger bag of Pet Promise, but I should have bought smaller the first time. Granted, my cats are all rescue and, originally, street orphans, but they've had the best I could get, including Iams, Science Diet, Nutro, and several organics, so they should have varied tastes. Don't know why they won't eat this. Anyone who reads this, please don't give up on the product. Go to other sites (just do a Google or Yahoo search) and read the reviews. Most are good. This stuff is hard to find, so just be sure about it. Amazon does offer a smaller bag. Wish I had gone that route.

My cats are very important to me so I feed them Pet Promise which is human grade, and good for them. One cat is 19 years old and since she is on this, she very seldom throws up her food and it is seldom that any of my other 3 cats have hair balls. There are no by-products in this cat food. The source of all the cat food comes from US ranches and farms - NO foreign countries! One year of feeding your cat Pet Promise can:Eliminate over 1,000 doses of antibiotics fed to chickens and provide over 40 pounds of great-tasting natural chicken to your cat. The founders of Pet Promise didn't start out to form a pet food company. They set out to help U.S. family farmers and ranchers committed to quality and sustainability standards and the humane treatment of animals. That is very important to me as well. I am thrilled with this product!

Company Respects All Animals,

My fussy cat has been eating Pet Promise dry food for a couple of years. It's the only kibble that she wants to eat. After she began eating this kibble, her coat became more soft and shiny.I particularly like the company that makes this product because it's the only one I've found that uses humanely-treated and sustainably raised chickens, turkeys, and cattle for its meat sources. As a first-time pet owner, I have found it very odd that there is so much emphasis on giving pets a diet that is supposed to be natural and healthy for their systems while completely ignoring the fact that the meat that comprises these "natural diets" is usually sourced from animals that have lived most "unnaturally," e.g. debeaked chickens housed their entire lives in grossly overcrowded and cramped conditions with little or no access to the outdoors, sunlight, and fresh air (even those fed a natural diet), as well as being subject to other questionable practices and abuse. ("Free-range" can mean that birds have access to a closet size piece of dirt and likewise the "organic" label does not guarantee humane treatment.) I really appreciate that this company sources its meats from family-owned farms and ranches that use humane practices that provide the animals with a more natural and healthy environment.

pet promise for cats dry food.I have 5 cats, and they all love pet promise cat food. It is the first food they can all agree on that they really love. Besides that, it is very healthy, and I have found that since they have been eating it, they have less trips to the vet, and don't seem to throw up as much as when they ate other cat foods. I would highly recommend this food for cats, as well as the one for dogs too. Candy L.

I have the most finiky cat on the planet and once she tasted it, she demanded more and REFUSED to eat anything else. Also, when I recently adopted an additional cat, I had the same experience with her; a flat REFUSAL to eat anything else. They love both the canned and dry food. This is healthy quality food, you can tell this when you open the bag and it smells like REAL FOOD! The cans of food smell like fresh fish or chicken. The dry food smells like chicken. It is unlike any other cat food on the market. I believe this is the BEST. TOP OF THE LINE! I noticed an increase in playfulness in my older cat as well as more of a sheen to her coat after a few weeks of changing to this food. She feels better, even though she was not sick in the first place, and she looks better. It is like she got off of junk food and on healthy food. It was an amazing change.

Why do your reviews of this only have four stars?,

I wish I could say that my positive feedback is only because we have a very fussy cat. This is true, but I initially bought this food based on its"by-product-free" pronouncements. We have tried samples of other brands of cat food that are grain-free and also by-product-free, but our cat will either not touch those or needs them doctored up. We bought a ton of this food when our local PetCo stopped carrying it. We have kept it in the freezer, and believe it or not, our cat prefers to eat it frozen. Please get it in again soon or our cat might kill us.

This is the only food my cats will eat without having their tummies upset! I especially like being able to purchase a 14 lb bag because this large of a bag is not available at any of my local pet stores.

I recently took my 15 year-old cat to the vet for a checkup since he was losing weight and throwing up quite a bit after eating. I was told he had problems with his kidneys and needed to go on a low protein diet. He would not eat any of the foods prescribed by the vet, so I went looking for other choices. I found that this food, while being very high quality, is also lower in protein content than other cat foods and easier for cats to digest. Since feeding him this diet he has gained weight, has stopped vomiting his food and is more playful. I highly recommend this product.

We have been feeding this food for almost a year now. Both of my cats love it and I didn't have any issues switching them to this food from what they had been eating (Good Life--they didn't like it at all!). My one cat has a sensitive tummy and has been doing great on this food--very few litterbox "issues" compared to other foods I've tried. Both have smoother coats now.
