I loved this book. It gave me great tips on how to get a rat , waht to do once you get the rat, and was up-to-date!I would reccomend this book to anybody!

My 8 year old and I checked out many books from our library system and this was the best, so we purchased it. Easy to understand yet a lot of good information. We particularly like the list of foods that are ok and not ok for them. Plus it makes a story out of a girl getting a pet rat, not a lecture or just dry information.

We got this book for my seven year old son to learn about pet rats. He loved it & it has inspired him to try to do many things with his pets. He could also identify with the girl who talks of divorced parents & living in two different homes. Very well written & informative, a perfect read for kids. I highly recommend it for children who have pet rats or would like to have them.

I bought this for my daughter, as she wanted a rat. She is 7, but reads like a 10 year old, and she read it through and thought it was great. She ended up deciding that she didn't want a rat right now, so this book was perfect... it showed what being a responsible pet owner is like, and gives a child a great view of what they would do with one, so they can make an informed decision. I didn't read it myself, so can't comment on content. But I would recommend it for a young adult, especially before they buy a rat.
