I have to say even as I faithfully follow this series I do miss the original Pet Shop of Horrors with all its more honest characters. Even Count D is more original there. That said I do enjoy the 4 stories in Vol 6. The first one on an old bird of an extinct species and her aged owner is a tender and moving story. I like how the mangaka ties their story into the high tech world of Youtube and cell phones.
My favorite is the second story of a widow of a recently assassinated Yakuza boss and I have read it a few times already. Love the pair of lion and lioness. I enjoy the sea realm here and the last page of Count D atop a sea tutle is just cute. 3rd story is on Wu Fei's dilemma tying to give up smoking. Wu Fei is not my favorite character as he could never take Leon's place. However in here we get to see his softer side as he finds himself babysitting a little girl or so he thought. 4th story about missed opportunity which leads to heartbreak and ultimately tragedy strikes a chord. This story is all the more sad as I am a BL/Yaoi fan. A great collection of 4 varied stories here and I will remain a fan even if I long for the more original characters in the first series.

I love this Manga, Pet Shop of Horrors is my favorite series and this volume is no different. There are 17 volumes to the whole series so far, 10 volumes to the original manga and 7 (vol. 7 coming in Sep) of Tokyo. I baught the original Pet Shop of Horrors on ebay, though I got Tokyo here. I would recomend this series for anyone who dosen't mind a bit of blood, Count D rules and so dose his writer Matsuri Akino-sama.
