This did work for about a week. We have a basset hound who just loves to bark and howl. I put the collar on him and used the low vibrate setting. By the end of the week, I had tried all the settings, and settled on the high vibrate with no results. The dog barked like crazy as the collar vibrated. The other problem was the collar would loosen up from daily wear. I would have to tighten it up constantly. We took the collar off the dog for a few days and will be putting it back on him. I am hoping that he will eventually stop the excessive barking.

Update 1/17/10: No success. He is still barking and the collar is going off like crazy and it does not even phase him. We took it off all day and put it on at night because he barks most in the morning. Didn't work at all. We tried all the different settings. He could care less abut the noise and the vibration, even on the high setting does not affect him one bit. The collar still needs to be tightened frequently. I would not recommend this collar if your dog has a bad barking problem. It might work for minor problems though. By the time you figure out that this doesn't work, the return period has expired. Will be investing in a real correction collar.

I hated the idea of using a shock collar on my dog so I found this alternative. A collar that vibrates with three levels. The first time I used it, it worked perfectly. And it was only on low! But after awhile, my dog started to ignore it so I had to increase the vibration to medium then eventually to high. It works up to a certain point. It also goes off when my dog shakes his whole body.

We put this on our dachshund on vibrate. (Yellow No Bark Collar) Worked the first time. Now all we have to do is show her the collar and she immediately is quiet.
We love it.
