If You Know What You're Doing...
on October 3, 2009
I work closely with a holistic veterinarian who recommended this product for a rescued Boston Terrier mix I was fostering. He presented with severe anxiety, agitation, restlessness, growling, snapping, and biting new or unfamiliar objects (including people and other animals). He was generally nervous and anxious, unable to calm down, and overly reactive to every day things in the environment. He was so uncomfortable and anxious that, even after months of being in my home, he wasn't able to learn (and so training wasn't helping.) It took about three days to begin seeing a difference, but he finally started calming down enough for learning to take place.
Yes, it comes as tiny granules and yes, the label states that the granules should be sprinkled into the animal's mouth. For some folks, this might be less than simple or, in some cases, outright dangerous, but it can also be administered by sprinkling the recommended amount of granules on a bit of peanut butter, easy cheese, etc smeared on a spoon.
The only thing you really need to be aware of when working with holistic or homeopathic remedies is that it can take, on average, 3-6 weeks to see results, and since each animal is an individual, continued dosing beyond visible results may be necessary. Even with results, humane and positive training should *always* be utilized to correct/prevent behavior problems as soon as the animal is capable of learning. Don't expect miracles, expect to do some work. This aggression formula can help, providing it's right for your pet.
