1.0 out of 5 stars not worth it
Didn't work for my cats UTI - Had to take her to vet and ending up spending $200 on top of the $40 I paid for this.

A few months ago our Maine Coon started what we like to call the "litter box dance" where she would go in and out every few minutes, strain to urinate, and sometimes yowl in pain. When we noticed a bit of blood in her urine, we immediately took her to the vet who confirmed it was in fact a UTI. After multiple vet visits, two rounds of antibiotics, a breakout in hives, and $800 in bills she was UTI free. Unfortunately, the litter box dance started again a month later and this time I did NOT want to expose her to the additional stress of more tests and powerful antibiotics, so I went out on a limb and ordered UTI Free from PetAlive after reading the positive reviews. I admit I was skeptical but I researched the ingredients and they seem to be genuine homeopathic remedies. And they WORK. I keep our cat on a maintenance dose (once or twice per day) and increase (up to 6 per day) if she ever shows signs of the litter box dance. After just a few doses she is calmer, more playful, and is urinating more easily. In a few days, the UTI is gone and she's back to her normal cat self. I sprinkle the dose on a teaspoon of her favorite wet food and she doesn't even seem to notice it. UTI Free has improved the quality of our cat's life tremendously and I highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easier Dosing Options!!, July 3, 2010
This review is from: PetAlive UTI-Free for Bladder Infections and UTI in Pets (Misc.)
I'll spare you the details since my kitty was enduring much the same "no-pee" "red-pee" issues as the rest in these reviews. Just wanted to provide a quick tip.

While no one actually mentions this on any of the websites, it is WORLDS easier to dose your kitties if you dissolve the required dosage in a bit of water first instead of trying to get them to keep the little pellets in their mouths. Plus, you don't have to feed them all the time (every 30 minutes? come on people... when your animals are in pain they aren't typically interested in eating - well not all of them anyway. Plus you run the risk of counterproductivity if you are feeding them food that has a high pH and you are contributing to potential weight gain issues).

Use about 1 tsp of water, mix in your pinch of UIT-Free (double the water and double the pinch for larger animals or use whatever dose is necessary), stir and allow to fully dissolve, suck up in syringe/dropper and dose kitty/puppy without hassle!!

Hope it helps!

5.0 out of 5 stars Miracle stuff!, January 14, 2008
Our 17 year old cat had been frequently urinating just outside of her box for many years. We're pretty sure she's diabetic (with kidney disease?) and suspected a UTI (the vet's secretary thought it was painful for her to 'go' and therefore associated the box with pain).

I wasn't in favor of antibiotics and didn't want to go to the vet which would be costly, no doubt---leading to dialysis, etc. This stuff was amazing. We purchased only 1 bottle and it seemed to take care of it, however I'm pregnant and my husband isn't diligent enough with the box so she has resorted to her old ways.

It seemed to clear up the UTI but I wonder if we have to keep her on this stuff for the rest of her life? Perhaps another course of it after the baby is born will do the trick? I went ahead and purchased 2 more (+ 1 free). Fingers are crossed . . . cat seems spunkier than I've seen in a long time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works!, June 19, 2009
This review is from: PetAlive UTI-Free for Bladder Infections and UTI in Pets (Misc.)
My cat was running through the house screaming in pain and was in and out of the litter box every minute or so, unable to go more than a drop at a time. I had to make an emergency appointment with the vet. After the vet ran a urinalysis she said she couldn't find any bacteria and sent us home. The cat was practically climbing the walls and running from room to room, howling in pain. I couldn't catch him to give put it in his mouth because he was in such pain and was acting like he was afraid of me. I gave him these pills on some wet food every 30 minutes for a few hours and within no time he was lying on the bed peacefully. I continued with the treatment twice a day for a few weeks and eventually stopped with no recurrence of symptoms. I never told my vet. I don't think she would believe it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Saved My Pet & My House!, December 6, 2010

My 8 year old cat was urinating in corners in my small apartment. Making it even more unfortunate he was doing so right in front of the door of my place, so my building managers were very aware of the problem. I got a five day notice that I was going to get evicted. He had used the bathtub to urinate for a while, and I had assumed it was just due to not wanting to share with the other cat. I had no idea he had a UTI!

Upon realizing, I searched pet stores everywhere. They only had 'prevention', no treatment. I found this product during my online searching. I read the reviews of people who took their cats over and over again to vets with $300 bills only to have the problem come up again. I read the reviews here. Decided to give this product a try.

IT WORKS IT WORKS IT WORKS! WITHIN A DAY! Not only is he back to using the litterbox again? He's more alive! Happier than I've seen him in a long time! He plays more too! I thought he was just laid back, it turned out he was in pain. I can't believe the difference this product makes!

Yes, it might not be super easy to administer. I just wrap my arm around him, use a teaspoon so that it's easier to put it in his mouth, and he freaks out for a short second before taking it. My other cat? Loves the stuff & wants it himself, he'd eat it as a treat if I let him! Go figure! So the taste is okay, it's just the forced feeding my cat doesn't prefer. So putting it in water or food would probably work perfectly.

Only downside? You do have to keep up with it without missing a single dose! I forgot one day and he went right back to having trouble urinating and trying to go in the corner again. So make sure you buy a few bottles at a time. I'm doing the buy two get one free straight from the site itself this time around.

Once again, this is (as cliche as it sounds) a miracle product. I couldn't be happier & neither could my cat!

I was skeptical when I purchased this product but I had a pug that will get UTI at least 4x a year. Whenever I sensed that she is about to have another episode, I start adding this to her food and it has helped. She has not been back to the vet for UTI. I stopped using it for a year now and my pug is still good, hope she stays that way. It's not cheap but compared to vet bills and antibiotics, it is comparable.

My 10 year old cat had a lot of blood in his urine. His pee was the color of rust! The animal hospital wanted $500 just to run tests and give vitamin shots they said "may" help. I could not afford this. I ordered this stuff because it had such good reviews, but I order from the company's web site that had buy 2 for $59.99 get one free. I figured if it didn't work then I'd go the vet route.
After about 3 weeks and used 2 whole bottles my cats urine is clear. I also changed his food to a urinary track health brand from whole food market,so maybe the combo worked. I am happy either way. This stuff worked and I will be buying again.

I can't believe how fast this worked! My 9 year old female is piddling normally and less frequently. She is absolutely fine. What a relief. And to those who had difficulty administering the pinches of the tiny pellets. try this. sprinkle a pinch on a plastic spoon...open the cat's mouth and pour them in. Hold the mouth closed for a few seconds and that's it. They slide very quickly off the plastic spoon.
My cat hates being bothered in any way, pills, nail clipping and so on. This went so fast
She didn't fuss at all.
