Over 40 years of my life has been spent in the grooming industry. As a kid I grew up working after school in my parents pet salon and today I operate PetGroomer.com to help others succeed in grooming. Let me assure you that Notes From the Grooming Table is truly a must for every groomers library. What a reference work! So much added grooming information besides breed styling by AKC breeds makes this a classic reference work. Invest in your career and obtain this book on the how-to side of grooming pets. Worth every penny for the professional groomer.

This was a book I was SO eager to get. It is absoultely ok, but it sure wasn't the masterpiece that I had hoped for. It is pretty with excellent layout and clever spiral binding, but it is just the same advice as you get anywhere.
Still, this is probably one of the first books I'd recommend on the subject to a beginner. But if you are more advanced in the field there will be little new to gain.

This is an amazing book! As an aspiring groomer-in-training who had never laid a hand on a pair of clippers, this book is FANTASTIC!! It has everything from tips on getting the perfect bath to getting out undercoat to how to tell exactly what your clients are asking for, complete with photo references, drawings, and step-by-step instructions. This book is a staple in my groom shop, and it should be in EVERY serious grooming establishment! YOU CAN'T FIND A BETTER GROOMING BOOK THAN NOTES!!!

This is such a brilliant book! i was given this book as a reference guide while i trained as a professional groomer and found it so helpful and informative! the instructions are detailed enough that it never leaves you stuck with a million questions but simple enough that anyone can understand it. this is a must have book

I am currently training to be a Groomer/Pet Stylist and this is the book my company uses in their grooming academy to train all groomers. It is wonderful. It is very helpful to know that you can turn to any page in this book and find the breed of dog you are looking for. There are also general instructions that apply to many breeds (ex: teddy bear heads, etc). Directions are simple, yet detailed enough for anyone to understand. A must have for groomers and pet stylists!

This book would have to be the number one book on a new groomers wish list
An essential piece of equipment, that you can refer back to over and over.

I am learning to be a dog groomer and this book is required material. I think it has wonderful illustrations and good directions, but my instructor noted that not all the cuts described are accurate for certain breeds. I was disappointed to hear this, but it is great reference material for learning students.

I've been a groomer for over thirty years and found this book very helpful.
Its a great visual so you and the pet owner are talking about the same look.
It reminds the groomer of how to groom breeds she rarely sees.
For an experienced groomer, it shows him how to groom a breed never seen before.
It contains lots of useful tips that I'd never heard of in 30 years.

Even the best of groomers can't remember everything all the time. This book serves as a useful data base for all things in grooming.

I'm not sure I'd recommend this book for a beginner without hands on supervision as well. This book is an aid to teaching, not a replacement for a teacher.

I do use the book's bathing- brushing chapters to train my own bather-brushers.

Fresh out of grooming training, this was book I picked up as a supplemental guide to the styles of the breeds that come into the salon where I work. It has NEVER let me down. In fact, rarely a day goes by without SOMEONE in the salon using it as a reference, usually to educate customers about their options in getting their dog groomed.

If you're going to be a dog groomer, GET THIS BOOK! I have never seen such clear instructions and useful diagrams for cuts.

This book is perfect for any amateur or professional groomer anywhere. The instructions are very precise and easy to understand. The pictures are more realistic and clear than any other grooming book I have ever read.
