I have 3 male cats who are all very particular about the condition of their litter boxes - as well as the area around the boxes. They don't like any litter in what they feel are the wrong places.

Before this mat, cleaning up litter that they flung from their feet was something that I did several times a day. I don't have to do that any more.

The grid in the mat material, as well as the solid depression, grab hold of the litter before it hits the rest of the floor. Then all you have to do is vacuum it up or better yet, use a whisk broom and dust pan to sweep it up and put it back into the box, with no waste of litter.

As an added nicety, the color and pattern are eye pleasing and blend nicely with any decor.

I would definitely recommend this - and wish that I had found it years ago.

I bought this product for my elderly mother to replace the cloth cat pad she had been using which was ... well ... disgusting. She has two cats and a small house so her litter box is in the bathroom right next to the toilet. What drew me immediately to this product was a) the fact that it wasn't cloth <which traps any odors> and b) it matches her grey bathroom! She ended up trimming the back off of the mat so that it fits perfectly into the space she has, but even that speaks to the quality of the product; it cut clean and still retains all of its functionality. She loves that she isn't stepping on stray litter any longer and that she can just use the dustpan and brush to sweep up the caught litter or a sponge to clean the surface. She commented the other day that it would be just as easy to pick the whole mat up and carry it to the garbage (during BIG cleaning days) because it is thick and won't collapse and spill any litter. My mother is kinda a picky lady (not into change), so the fact that she immediately installed and adores this mat says volumes about it. No doubts that this will stay for many years and not have to be replaced! Awesome. Am hoping this company comes out with more products!

The PetFusion SmartGrip Cat Litter Mat is a good size and does trap litter well; it also allows for easy cleanup because there are no crevices for the litter to get stuck. The mat is well cushioned and grips to the floor without slipping around so kitty does not mind stepping on it, unlike all the other mats we've had in the past which she avoided with a big jump resulting in litter spread far and wide :) Wish it would come in other neutral colors to coordinate with varied bathroom decor, although the gray does mask the litter well. I would strongly recommend this product to other cat lovers!

OK, that might be a slight exaggeration. But it has made life easier. We are a several cat house hold and that can get messy. This mat traps the litter nicely so they don't track it all of the house and the gray color nicely disguises it. Easy to vacuum with the hose, and when our cats sometimes "miss the box" I can easily clean it with a damp sponge. Other mats would trap the odor. Great product!

Let me start by saying I cannot believe I'm actually writing a product review for a cat litter mat :). I stumbled upon PetFusion's SmartGrip Cat Litter Mat while shopping online for my two little siamese rascals, Teddy and Harry. I've owned a number of other litter mats over the years and was immediately drawn to the stylish design, which is something that is hard to find in most pet products. I have a modern home so I said, 'why not give it a try'.

Well, the litter mat looks even better in person... Most important, it really does a great job keeping the litter off the floor! The key value add for me is that this is the first litter mat I've owned that I can actually sweep (which is my preference since my husband and I have all hardwood floors). Most other mats are made of a carpet material or trap litter under the surface. PetFusion's mat 'holds' the litter on the surface, which has made my second job as a housekeeper that much easier! Added bonus is that I can wipe the mat clean every week or so, which keeps my house smelling fresh.

Highly recommend for cat owners looking for easier cleaning and a nicer looking mat!

I have a very messy cat; so while I give this mat an 86% litter capture rate, that is good compared to the average mat at around 50%. I'm pretty sure she tries to flick litter out to be spiteful. My only real complaint was that Amazon wouldn't ship this item to Hawaii so I had to have it shipped to my family in NH and mailed from there. Petfusion contacted me to apologize and said they would inquire as to the problem so cudos to them for responsiveness.

As a cat owner my entire life, I've owned several litter mats. Outside of a litter box, I've always believed that a mat is the second most important cat product to own to keep your house clean and floors protected. To be fair, no mats are perfect and some litter will inevitably find its way on to the floor. That said, PetFusion's mat contains litter better than the rest. The best way I can describe it is the litter 'sits' on the mat and doesn't bounce around like a Mexican jumping bean, a problem I've had with other mats. The key is the soft material and tiny dimples which hold the litter in place. For me, the icing on the cake is the attractive design that fits nicely in my modern bathroom. I plan to buy another for our second litter box and retire the carpeted ones.

So far, the mat is doing everything as described (catches well and is easy to sweep), and while the neutral feel is safe for almost any room in the house, it would be nice to see more patterns and colors.

I am 80 years old and really appreciate how much easier it is to keep things neat and clean for me and my little friend. I purchased this item from Amazon and it arrived in just days. This mat works well, I had one with loops in in. This is easier to clean and seems to keep litter of floor better. I got 2, one is scrached up already (kittens). The color is horrible though. A plain neutral color and/ or one that looks like wood floors would be awesome.
