5.0 out of 5 stars Tons of fun
I have two German Shepherds...one of them is just insane over this toy...the other likes it but doesn't go crazy over it. The only problem with this ball is that even the large size is small enough to get rolled or pushed underneath furniture.

Anyway, I decided to head that problem off by putting it inside the "Tug-a-jug" toy that neither dog was particularly...

1.0 out of 5 stars terrible!

Just so you know what you're in for...I had NO idea. The sad part is that he LOVES this toy, so I just let him play with it in small doses. This way he is happy and I can keep my sanity!

Anyway, I decided to head that problem off by putting it inside the "Tug-a-jug" toy that neither dog was particularly impressed with. Inside, with little treats, it's double the fun and doesn't get lost beneath the furniture and both dogs like the combination of Babble Ball and Tug-a-Jug toy.

Like someone else said, the ball is hard plastic and looks like it can stand up to some very hard play for a long time.

Lots of fun for dogs and humans!!!

PS...Actually, it's pretty funny when the ball is inside the jug and the little voice says, "Let me out of here!"

5.0 out of 5 stars My puppy loves it!, September 15, 2008
My 10 month schnoodle (1/2 schnauzer, 1/2 poodle) loves this toy! It's just the right size for her to carry around (she's 17 pounds) and she loves to toss it and retrieve it as well. Sometimes she will go over to her toy basket and just nudge it to hear it talk. Her favorite thing is to smack it with her nose so that it goes careening around the tiled floor, talking to her the whole time, and she merrily chases it. Our cats also are curious about it (in a cautious way) and will stalk it and tentaively bat at it. Or course, once it starts talking, the puppy comes running, and then the cats run for cover! Good times!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrap it up in a sock !, April 11, 2009

I encased my blue babble ball in a few layers of knotted socks, and my Boykin Spaniel loves it! Downside is you can't insert that sheet of plastic to completely shut it off, but I never did that anyway. Upside is that it's softer and easier for her to carry/throw around.

Other downside is the batteries. I found replacements at Radio shack, but they cost almost as much as the original ball did. Still, we got plenty of hours of fun for under $10.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big dog mom, February 1, 2008
This yellow babble ball is my Newfie's favorite toy. He never tires of it and is fascinated by the phrases and sounds that come out of it. After he eats he immediately looks for it so he can roll it around with his huge paws. He is not afraid of noises (he even loves to be blow-dried), so that is not an issue for us. I will say that my Great Pyrenees/Bernese Mix is not interested in this toy at all. But it's a joy to watch my Newf play with the Babble Ball. Give it a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Our Rottie Loves it, September 27, 2009

Our Rotti loves this. He goes through most toys and destroys them usually in a matter of 10 minutes. Not the Babble ball, it is very tough and durable. Has had one for about 2 years now. Has not babbled for about a 1/2 year now. he still likes to toss it around. I'm getting him his 2nd one today. I think he misses the oh! No! You got me voice. I will post a video of him playing with it soon. I would recommend this to any large dog owner that has yet to find toy that holds up for more than 10 min. This is it.

I have had the medium ball for a while and my dog couldn't quite pick it up easily so I got her this one. She loves it and carries it around the house with her. She loves to make it "talk" to her.

5.0 out of 5 stars love this ball, October 1, 2008

we got this ball for our destructive puppy and he loved it. he's 12 lb's and a schnoodle and the medium size was perfect for him. Just big enough where he could still grab it with his mouth(with some difficulty) despite the hard material. We got a blue color. The talking is very cool; I didn't follow instructions :( and I threw out a tab that activates the battery. so, this thing was babbling more then it should have when he wasn't even around. Because of this the battery ran out after about 2 weeks or so. before that he loved hearing a voice from this and got into the habit of 'throwing' it with his front paws to fling it across the room (picture a kick with his front paws). This was of course adorable to see and he loved it. So, great toy, remember to keep the battery tab.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ball o' Fun, November 15, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My cockers have 3 Babble Balls, 2 small and 1 medium. I purchased this for a friend's new Brittany puppy. She loves it and it's the thing she carries with her when she goes in her crate. They are made of hard plastic and have replaceable watch batteries(small takes 3). The small is a little larger than a golf ball and medium is a little larger than a tennis ball. I would suggest care in choosing one large enough, I think the small could be a choking hazard for a large dog. Once my dogs start they don't quit until it rolls under the furniture and they can't get to it. It's sensitive and will activate with very little vibration, like walking by it at night. It is a little loud and repetitive and can be annoying to my husband. It doesn't bother me, I find myself repeating 'Oh, Lucky Dog!!' - 'Here Puppy, Puppy!!' - 'Oh no, EHHHH!' etc.

I only let her play with it for a few minutes each day - so it's always fresh. It seems pretty rugged, but I prefer to supervise her play - she is an avid chewer and toy destroyer. The people in the house enjoy the babble as well.
