Give your pet a secure outdoor space to play. With the PetSafe Do-It-Yourself Dog Kennel, your pet has a 10 foot by 10 foot square to himself. Easily assembled, this pet playpen is a great solution for busy pet parents to give their pet time outdoors. To beat the heat, there is an additional SunBlock Top™ sold separately to make his kennel his new favorite place.
Create a full-size chain-link kennel from the contents of a single box. The PetSafe Do-It-Yourself Dog Kennel can be transported with ease and sets up quickly with the help of a few simple hand tools. The kennel is made with rust resistant galvanized steel and has an easy to connect design for a simple frame assembly. All materials are included.
A bit of effort on your part can go a long way to ensure your dog adjusts well to his new kennel. Taking the time to introduce your dog to life in the kennel will lead to a better experience for both you and your pet.
Kennel familiarization may take several days or even weeks, depending on your dog’s age, temperament, and past experiences. It’s important to keep two things in mind while kennel training: The dog kennel should always be associated with something pleasant, and training should take place in a series of small steps. Don’t go too fast!
First, introduce your dog to the kennel by placing a favorite toy, blanket or beloved object into the kennel. To encourage your dog to enter the kennel, try dropping some small food treats nearby, then just inside the door, and finally, all the way inside of the kennel. If he isn’t interested in treats, try tossing a favorite toy in the kennel. Don’t expect instant results, this process may take several days.
When he enters the kennel, offer enthusiastic verbal praise. Quietly close the gate and secure it. Never slam the gate after your dog enters. He should regard his kennel as a safe place rather than a punitive time-out area.
For best results, introduce your pet to his new kennel enclosure for brief periods over time. Stay nearby. Some pets may try to bite or chew the enclosure; some may try to climb out. Your pet may bark or whine. Verbally reassure him. Increase the length of time he is contained until you believe he’s comfortable in his new kennel.
Pet toys and other familiar objects can be reassuring to our pet, and help to pass the time while he’s contained. For more information, consult your veterinarian or other pet professional to make your pet’s transition to the kennel as stress-free as possible.

Arrived timely, no damage, and all the parts were there. It was easier to put together than I thought it would be. It took me about 3 hours to put it together. Read morePublished 12 days ago by Stephenie
I should have spent more money on a better quality. By the time my husband has put all the time and money into more parts to fortify it, it was pretty expensive. Read morePublished 15 days ago by Warren Hanson
My dogs are happy and safe! Quality is not the best but strong enough to keep my 2 boxers safe while I'm not at home.Published 16 days ago by LOKELANI
The wire is cheaply made and we had to support it with hog paneling. But it was stilll cheaper than most kennels and very good sized.Published 24 days ago by Tracy Stewart
assembly was easy but the quality of the chain link is poor. The dogs were able to bite it and make a hole in less than an hour.Published 25 days ago by Nicole M Presa
Good kennel for a dog that doesn't try to escape. My dog stayed in it. My mother's dog managed to get out every time.Published 1 month ago by Joyce
