Product Description

The PetSafe Heated Pet Pad is a great way to keep your pet comfortable indoors or out. Great for the basement, garage or covered patio. The PetSafe Heated Pet Pad has a semiconductor controlled thermostat; duel temperature option: 82 degrees F and 100 degrees F. The thermostat also cycles on and off to save power. Cats seem to prefer the cooler side while dogs prefer the warmer side. Includes a stainless steel power cord for chewers and the electronics and heating element are fully sealed to UL standards. The heating unit wipes clean with a damp cloth. The included removable cover is made with two-layers of polyester fleece. The bottom side is a nylon non-skid bottom. The cover fully encases the heated pet pad and is washable. Large size for pets 1 - 65 pounds

Wonderful Invention February 13, 2008

My cat loves this pad. She is an older cat now and must have aches and pains just like I do. She is a typical cat that hates everything except Trader Joes Cat Tuna and this pad. Seattle is known for rainy damp weather. This pad helps my cat through the 9 months of cold winter dampness found in Seattle. Highly recommend this product.

A Hit with the Kitties. January 16, 2010

I bought this for my 2 middle-aged cats. I placed the pad on the platform of their scratching post. Since one of my cats only leaves the pad to eat and poop, I think the concensus is it works great.

Each side has a different temperature, and I first tried the lower temperature side. My cats didn't really go for it, so I turned it over and found they prefer the higher temperature. I can feel the heat coming off the thing, so I don't know what could be going on with those reviewers who say it doesn't warm up. Ours is nice and toasty all the time

The pad is inflexible, so do not expect to put it anywhere you would need it to bend. I leave it plugged in all the time--I don't see how you could possibly be expected to "unplug when not in use", as your pet is going to be the one who decides when to use it. Regardless, leaving it plugged in unattended has not been a problem for us. It has a nice removable cover, though there are no cleaning instructions with it so I'll have to take my chances tossing it into the wash on cold water, and see what happens.

Cats love it! January 5, 2007

Size Name:Medium|Amazon Verified Purchase
Our cats sleep in the basement at night (due to owner-head-jumping activities at all hours); In the winter they were not happy as the basement is the coolest part of the house.

I picked this up as an early Xmas present for the cats; as far as I can tell, they love it---they are always on it at night.

The device is a rigid plastic board with a cloth wrap and a metal encased electric power cord (it's clearly cat safe; it's probably dog-proof, too.) One side is warmer than the other (I used the warmer side up, with another blanket on top.)

This product would be perfect if the power cord were slightly longer and included a timer (which we added, seperately) to turn on and off automatically.

Also no HEAT :o(
Pad came in a plain brown box without any directions. Pad doesn't heat and now after spending good money my porch kitties are still very cold....not a happy customer.

Harder than expected...
I was expecting a soft heated bed, similar to a heating pad, only larger. This bed is solid with a fleece covering. My dog prefers to sleep on her cold cushioned bed. Read more

not enough for really cold weather
we tried using this pad in a dog crate inside an unheated garage, on a day when it was about 15-20 F. Our healthy 70-lb Lab (used to being outside) was shivering when we got home. Read more
